Summer Feast at Agios Ioannis - Corfu. On June 24th is the Festival of Mid-Summers Eve and the eve of Saint John’s (Agios Ioannis) Feast Day.
In our village (and in most of the villages around Corfu) , the locals light 3 fires in the centre of the village. Fire is supposed to be a purifying and beneficial element. Before the locals jump through the fires, they wear a headdress made from olive branches. Once the locals are ready, they then jump through the fire 3 times. As they complete this ritual, they ask for “The blessing of God” from Saint John. Costas, Nitsa, Anna and Nikos are all present!

Beautiful location and pleasant accommodation. The house consists of a small reception booth, with information desk on the ground floor, attended by the owner. In total there are 11 units on the first (60 steps for the first floor) and second floors (75 steps for the second floor). Galazio Kima family apartments and studios are light and airy and perfectly located for families, right on the beach and walking distance to the charming traditional village of Kalyves.Nothing lies between these apartments and the sand and sea, except for the surrounding of tropical gardens with their bright flowers and lush green lawn. The soft sand of the beach is shaded by tamarind trees and slopes gently in shallow water, making it ideal for children. A large swimmng pool and childrens pool offer an alternative to the beach and poolside snack bar serves drinks, ice creams and snacks for children as well as local delicacies.
