Scuba Diving: Mewstone Reef, Glen Strathallan and the Hoe at Plymouth, Devon
Welcome to my channel, I hope you enjoy watching all the kayak fishing around the UK, mostly in the North Sea - in the sea and river, fishing for cod, bass, tope, dogfish, smoothound, thornback ray, whiting, wrasse and anything else I can target There's scuba diving off the North Norfolk Coast and Suffolk, wreck diving, reef diving, river diving, even Cenote Diving, in the Red Sea off Egypt, the Mediterranean off Malta and Gozo and in Mexico, Brazil, Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, Pembrokeshire in Wales, Swanage and Plymouth and of course the diving with sharks in South Africa. There's kayaking too, including surfing sailing and touring in the UK and abroad and a bit of snorkelling, Plenty of videos too of me fiddling with and driving my classic car, a 1973 Triumph Spitfire and other cars get a look in too. There's cooking, eating, travelling around various cities in Europe - Berlin in Germany, Naples and Rome in Italy, plus the Vatican; Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and elsewhere in Bulgaria; Lefkosia / Nicosia and much of Cyprus, Krakow in Poland, there's Malta too. Istanbul in Turkey just outside Europe too, and Egypt around Hurghada. Further afield there's a bit of South Africa and Latin America with the Mayan Riviera of Mexico and Rio de Janeiro, Paraty and Isla Grande in Brazil. There's even a bit of Northern Ireland and parts of England mixed in with the nonsense of East Anglia in a camper van with my daughters! If you enjoy one video please watch another and consider subscribing so you don't miss future uploads however crap they might be! Thanks and regards, Mark

The Transat has a new title sponsor in the French pastry company, bakerly. The Transat, the oldest professional solo sailing race, which sets sail from Plymouth to New York on May 2nd, has a new title sponsor in bakerly, a new brand of French inspired bakery goods. The race now officially becomes “The Transat bakerly” – in a partnership that perfectly fits the French company’s spirit of adventure. Founded in 2015, bakerly, is a new consumer brand but it shares with The Transat – which enjoys a 56-year history steeped in adventure and sailing folklore – a common path: both The Transat and bakerly are crossing the Atlantic. ‘bakerly’ is a US subsidiary of the French industrial food group Norac. With bakerly, American consumers can now experience crêpes, brioches, and croissants made without additives or preservatives. For the Norac group, the sponsorship of the race is something of a homecoming. Crêpes Whaou! is one of the most iconic brands owned by the group and sailing fans will remember the many victories of French skipper Franck-Yves Escoffier and his trimaran. Escoffier even took part in the 2004 edition of this solo transatlantic epic. With a warm-up from St Malo to the race start at Plymouth and then finishing New York 3,000 miles later, The Transat bakerly follows the strategic path of the bakerly brand – created in France, established in Britain and today setting foot in America. During each of The Transat bakerly’s stopovers – at St-Malo, Plymouth and New York – the public will have the chance to discover, or rediscover, the different products the Norac group has to offer. The Transat bakerly is a key race in the world of offshore racing and sport in general, since 1960, the race has contributed a great deal to sailing and its history has a universal appeal. We are very proud to associate our brand with an event of this magnitude. “The Transat bakerly is a key race in the world of offshore racing and sport in general”, explained Bruno Caron, CEO of Norac. “Since 1960, the race has contributed a great deal to sailing and its history has a universal appeal. We are very proud to associate our brand with an event of this magnitude. “For us this sponsorship marks a return to racing and a sport that has much potential, as we discovered with Crêpes Whaou! Now with The Transat bakerly, we marry passion and reason because this is how the best stories start.” Hervé Favre, The Transat bakerly Events Director said: “Since the first edition, The Transat has been associated with fine partners. Today we are proud to join together with bakerly and look towards a promising future with Norac, a French food group out to conquer the US market. “This partnership is great news, and it will help give greater scope to the event,” Favre added. This partnership is great news, and it will help give greater scope to the event. The 2016 edition of The Transat bakerly will see 25 solo skippers in four classes – Ultimes, IMOCA 60s, Multi50s and Class40s – take on one of the great challenges in professional sailing. They face a 3,000-mile course complete with storm force headwinds, rough seas and freezing fog. When Sir Francis Chichester won the first edition of the race in 1960, it took him 40 days to reach New York. This year the fastest boats could be there in as little as seven days. The Norac Group: - 4200 employees - CEO Bruno Caron - HQ in Rennes, France - Owner of 12 brands, including 5 outside of France - Companies in France: Ateliê do Sabor, Cie des Pains, Daunat, Dessaint Food Services, La Boulangère and Sud’n’Sol - Companies outside France: Germany – Ibis; Brazil – Norac do Brazil; Spain – Espanorac; UK – Norac Foods UK; USA – Norac USA - 21 production sites; two outside of France - Brands: Armor Délices, Ateliê do Sabor, bakerly, Crêpes

2014 May Plymouth
Highlights from our club trip to Plymouth. We had fantastic sunshine and weather but terrible visibility. There was a plankton bloom which meant two of the dives had very poor visibility. We did three dives with Aquanauts, however only the James Egan Lane came out (just) in the video. Enjoy!
Wreck Diving DIR-NL, Plymouth UK (June 3-4, 2011)
Two days of great wreck diving with DIR-NL and Aquanauths Dive Centre in Plymouth, UK. Wrecks: James Egan Layne (1945), Maine (1917) and The Persier (1918).
Recorded with GoPro head-mounted camera.
Diving HMS Scylla and James Egan Layne, Plymouth 2018
A composite of 3 dives with Aquanauts on HMS Scylla, sunk in 2004 as an artificial reef, and one on the JEL, a Liberty Ship torpedoed in 1945. After a scouting dive we did several straight-through penetrations of Scylla and had a look round the bridge. JEL's masts, funnel and other upperworks are spread in a debris field along the port side and there are several spaces to explore within the holds and engine room. We didn't visit the stern section, which became detached when she sank. On JEL in particular I was looking rather than filming but the few clips here do I think capture the haunting feel of the wreck as she slowly breaks down.
Deepo's Hideaway Barriers
Cawsand & Rame Head AND Mt Edgecumbe Park Visit, Part VIII, 'Kingsand Beach & German Ships' by Sheil
This part of my day's walking around sections of the coast here in East Cornwall sees me hugging the coastline at Kingsand Bay where 2 Cornishmen informed me that the naval boats visiting were in fact German---The geology is very red here and the local buildings also reflect this in their bricks---much history here---I can just imagine the battles taking place here in Plymouth Sound---I can remember the huge Aircraft Carriers here--HMS Ark Royal, HMS Eagle in the 1960s---also imagine pirates and smugglers here at Kindsand Bay. A very peaceful walk indeed.

Plastic in oceans 'threatens food chain'
As England prepares to introduce a charge for plastic bags, science editor David Shukman reports on the possible threat to the food chain, by the plastics broken down into tiny fragments in our oceans.
Tests by the Plymouth Marine Laboratory have shown that when miniscule particles of plastic are in the water, the creatures at the bottom of the food chain do ingest them.
An estimated eight million tonnes of plastic waste is added to the oceans every year.
