Ararat Lunatic Asylum: Ghost Tour & History
Aradale is known as one of the worlds most haunted places, and rightly so.
A few weeks ago I went on the Aradale Lunatic Asylum paranormal investigation 6 hour tour. It was a very interesting experience and we did have some POSSIBLE 'interaction' with spirits. This video is not about jump scares or how many scary moments I can tell you about, but rather a short condensed history of what went on in this horrible haunted place.
With thanks to our tour guide Jamie from Eerie tours for such a great night(s).

Jward Lunatic Asylim Ghost Tour
Haunted Asylum Aradale
Thanks to Nathaniel from Eerie Tours we got the chance to investigate the Aradale Lunatic Asylum. Again we picked up plenty of activity in the female ward and some strange images.
The footage in the female ward has plenty of unexplained lights flying about with an active EMF (K2). We detected nothing much else in the rest of the asylum apart from a few unexplained noises. Very spooky and somewhat tragic place. Enjoy this short vid.
ASYLUM | a real paranormal investigation
We went on a three hour paranormal investigation tour of the Aradale Lunatic Asylum which sits abandoned just outside of Ararat [which is why it's also known as the Ararat Lunatic Asylum]. It's been called Australia's most haunted asylum. I'm not saying you have to believe in ghosts or whatever but man, I can't explain what we saw.
News clip taken from a piece on Aradale by Win News which I found on Youtube but now can't for the life of me.

The Aradale Asylum
A Short documentary discussing the dark history and rumors surrounding one of Australia's most haunted buildings.
JWard Lunatic Asylum - Ararat Victoria Australia
JWard began as a prison in 1859. It later became temporary housing for the Criminally Insane. It was closed in 1991 and is now a museum. Over its long history, there were many gruesome events.
We had a few experiences during the tour, including humming in the ear, a cold hand in a room where a man likes to hold hands with guests, our KII meters lit up in a number of locations, and we got some photos with some oddities. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend any of our Fantoms to check it out for themselves. Would love to see what you find and hear your feedback!

Aradale Asylum Ararat Teaser Video
This video is of Aradale Asylum in Ararat Victoria Australia. Aradale is Australia's largest abandon Asylum. The video camera i shot this with was playing up so excuse some of the quality. Aradale has to be seen to be believed, this video does it no justice and the inside of buildings is only a small snippet of a huge place.
J Ward Asylum Ghost Tour
On my third ghost tour adventure in #Australia, we traveled all the way to Ararat, Victoria to know more about the dark history of this town.
#Ararat is a city in south-west Victoria, Australia, about 198 kilometers (120 mi) west of Melbourne. The discovery of gold in 1857 during the Victorian gold rush transformed it into a boomtown which continued to prosper until the turn of the 20th century, after which it has steadily declined in population.
#JWard originally the Ararat County Gaol, was an Australian prison, of the latter a psychiatric facility to house the criminally insane, located in Ararat, Victoria, Australia.
Construction of the gaol commenced in 1859 and the facility was opened in October 1861. In 1887 it was converted for use as a maximum-security psychiatric ward for the criminally insane. J Ward officially closed in January 1991 and in 1993 it was re-opened as a museum providing tours.
Although, there are others who chose to remain inside the four corners of the former prison.
Visit Australia's home to the criminally insane, J Ward Lunatic Asylum. Explore the museum followed by a ghost tour of the home of notorious criminals including Chopper Read, Gary Webb, and William Wallace. Explore the governor's bathroom, hangman's gallows, original kitchen, shower block, gravesites, West Wing, J Ward Block, exercise yards and grounds in search of the souls that still linger. Spirits are still lurking, prisoners buried in the grounds, and the souls still trapped within these walls.

Feeling brave? Visit and book your J Ward Asylumghost tour. The tour runs every Friday and Saturday. Thank you, #LanternGhostTour for the amazing tour.

Ep. 292 - Aradale Asylum in Australia
Gold brought people to Ararat, but what it would be known for is its asylums. The Aradale Asylum would be home for the mentally ill for over a century and would feature conditions and treatments similar to other asylums around the world, most of which were not good. This misunderstanding and mistreatment of the mentally ill lends itself to the negative energy that sometimes feeds paranormal activity. The fact that the criminally insane were kept in J Ward only heightens that energy. Join me as I explore the history and hauntings of the Aradale Asylum! The Moment in Oddity features Moonshiners using cow shoes to hide footprints and This Month in History features the first photo of an American President.
