Hashirimizu - Kanagawa - 走水 - 4K Ultra HD
Hashirimizu is a small fishing town located in Kanagawa prefecture. Close to Yokosuka city or if you prefer, a good hour south of Tokyo and around 30 minutes south of Yokohama by car. Now we will be straight with you, there is actually nothing special about this little fishing town, no temples, no castle, nothing special really, and this is exactly why we decided to shoot a video of the place.
Hashirimizu is by all means your small fishing town lost between other villages and nearby huge cities. Despite being an hour away from Tokyo, Hashirimizu seems so remote and where everyday folks there still work like they did 50 years ago, fishing for a living and enjoying the sea.

Samurai Gaiden: Siege of Arai
SAMURAI GAIDEN
Siege of Arai
As a note, Arai-jou (Arai Castle) is sometimes referred to as Misaki-jou (Misaki Castle). If you're looking to research more on this particular topic, be sure to check things out for both names.
Samurai Gaiden is the educational web-series where I, Richard C. Shaffer, talk about the stories and anecdotes of the men and women of Sengoku Japan and the events that shaped their lives. Gaiden is Japanese for anecdote; an anecdote being a short, often obscure and/or humorous, historical account usually supplementing a larger narrative.

【Nishiarai Daishi】My first visit of the year to the Nishiarai Daishi temple in Adachi-ku, Tokyo
[Wikipedia] Miura clan
The Miura family (三浦氏, Miura-shi) was one of the branch families descended from the Minamoto clan. They held large fiefs, and retained great political influence. They were one of the primary opponents of the Hōjō family of regents in the mid-13th century, and again at the beginning of the 16th. Miura remains a common family name in Japan today.
The Miura clan supported Minamoto no Yoritomo in the foundation of the Kamakura shogunate, but were later annihilated by Hōjō Tokiyori in 1247. However, the family name was reassigned to a supporter of the Hōjō clan, and the Miura continued to rule Miura Peninsula through the Muromachi period until their defeat at Arai Castle in a 1516 attack by Hōjō Sōun.
