IZMIR: Ancient GREEK STATUES and JEWELRY, the ARCHAEOLOGY MUSEUM (TURKEY) ????️
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit The Izmir Archeology Museum (Turkish: İzmir Arkeoloji Müzesi) which is an archeology museum in Izmir, Turkey and which contains a number of artifacts from around the Gulf of Izmir. Most of the artifacts, which include jewelry, busts, statues, statuettes, tools, and various eating and cooking utensils, come from the Bronze Age, or from the Greek and Roman periods.
Izmir is a city on Turkey’s Aegean coast. Known as Smyrna in antiquity, it was founded by the Greeks, taken over by the Romans and rebuilt by Alexander the Great before becoming part of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. Today, its expansive archaeological sites include the Roman Agora of Smyrna, now an open-air museum. The hilltop Kadifekale, or Velvet Castle, built during Alexander’s reign, overlooks the city.
Turkey is a nation straddling eastern Europe and western Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Cosmopolitan Istanbul, on the Bosphorus Strait, is home to the iconic Hagia Sophia, with its soaring dome and Christian mosaics, the massive 17th-century Blue Mosque and the circa-1460 Topkapı Palace, former home of sultans. Ankara is Turkey’s modern capital.

SANTORINI, EXPLORING the ANCIENT CITY of THIRA ????️ (Θήρα), 9th century BC (GREECE)
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go a for a walking tour around the ancient city of Thira located in the beautiful island of Santorini, in Greece. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Santorini (Greek: Σαντορίνη) or Thera (English pronunciation and officially Thira (Greek: Θήρα), is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast of Greece's mainland.
Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe with thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Influential in ancient times, it's often called the cradle of Western civilization. Athens, its capital, retains landmarks including the 5th-century B.C. Acropolis citadel with the Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.

Archaeological Site of Olympia - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Archaeological Site of Olympia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern Greece. Home to the ancient Olympics, the games ran for over a thousand years before finally ending during the 4th century AD. This was a fascinating place to wander around, think about what it must have been like during competitions, and ponder how similar the ancient Olympics must have been to our own modern versions.

Chios Greece destruction of Hellenistic period cemetery
Destruction of Hellenistic period Cemetery. 144 graves were destroyed for the needs of construction for a movie theater and some shops. Local authorities and archaeological service covered the situation. Archaeological Committee after the destruction gave destruction lisence. None punished as always. Responsible engineer has the same name with former general secretary of Greek Ministry of Culture (fammilly relationship?).
Always remaining same more questions. Were the findings are now? 144 cases were sold as pieces of stones or existing somewere?
