Archaeological Museum of Olympia - Greece HD Travel Channel
After visiting the ancient site, we make a tour of the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. Already build in 1882 to exhibit finds from the surrounding archaeological sites, it was the first museum outside Athens. In 1975 one set up a new building, renovated in 2003 with high-quality materials. It is one of the most important museums in Greece. The exhibition halls are arranged chronologically in a clockwise direction.
We start our tour with the models of the Pelopion, the first sanctuary. Followed up to 4000 years old figures and weapons, usually made of bronze.
Architectural relics, like the pediment of the Treasure House of Megara, or the east and west pediment of the Temple of Zeus, witness the earlier artful design of the buildings.
We see models and an illustration of a reconstruction of the Statue of Zeus that brings the past back to life. Once the statue had hair and robes covered with gold and a skin made of ivory.
The statues of Nike of Paionios and Hermes of Praxiteles witness the perfection of Greek sculpture.
A highlight in the Roman hall is the bull from the Nymphaeum of Herodes Atticus, a consul, and patron of the arts.

Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki - Macedonia Greece
The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is housed in a 1962 edifice, designed by architect Patroclos Karantinos. It is a listed building as a unique example of modernist art in Greece. The Museum's collections include distinctive works of art and excavation finds from across Macedonia, as the archaeological service was the first state service to operate in Thessaloniki immediately after the liberation of the city. Since 2002 it operates as an independent special peripheral service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
In 2003 the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki was completely renovated in order to meet new technical and museological advances. The new exhibition of antiquities was organised into six permanent thematic units that encompass all aspects of personal and public life in antiquity. One grand and 2--5 minor temporary exhibitions take place annually, covering special and unique features of the Macedonians' everyday life in relation to the wider cultural framework of the rest of the Greek world and the broader zone of southeastern Mediterranean basin.

Walking tour through Delos, Greece 2018
Tour of the uninhabited island of Delos, Greece. Delos is one of the most important mythological, historical, and archaeological sites in Greece. The excavations in the island are among the most extensive in the Mediterranean; ongoing work takes place under the direction of the French School at Athens, and many of the artifacts found are on display at the Archaeological Museum of Delos and the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
Delos had a position as a holy sanctuary for a millennium before Olympian Greek mythology made it the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. From its Sacred Harbour, the horizon shows the three conical mounds (image below) that have identified landscapes sacred to a goddess in other sites: one, retaining its Pre-Greek name Mount Kynthos,[1] is crowned with a sanctuary of Zeus.
Our holiday in Kea, Greece
Kea, or Tzia, is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea’s Cyclades archipelago, characterized by hilly countryside and quiet beaches.
We visited in September 2017, and visited much of the island and it's many beaches including also the ruins of Ancient Karthea.
In the island’s capital, Ioulida or Ioulis, the Archaeological Museum of Kea houses locally excavated artefacts. The waters around Kea are home to several shipwrecks, including the Titanic’s sister ship, the Britannic in 1916.

MOVING TO GREECE
I had been in Los Angeles but was denied entry in to the US. I came back to Sweden but did not want to stay there so I got on a flight to Crete in Greece. Crete is the biggest island in Greece.
Chania is a city on the northwest coast of the Greek island of Crete. It’s known for its 14th-century Venetian harbor, narrow streets and waterfront restaurants. At the harbor entrance is a 16th-century lighthouse with Venetian, Egyptian and Ottoman influences. Opposite, the Nautical Museum has model ships, naval objects and photographs. The former monastery of St. Francis houses the Archaeological Museum of Chania.
