Dirleton Castle part:2 ????????ส่องปราสาท ไดร์แรกตัน ร้างตอนจบ
Hi everyone welcome back to part:2 thank you very much for reading and here is some brief information about the castle and also the link below:
Dirleton castle built almost 800 years ago, was designed for comfortable living space as well as for defence. The three noble families who lived in it adapted their home in line with changing need. it was the seat of three noble families - THE DE VAUXS, THE HALIBURTONS AND THE RUTHVENS - Who in turn controlled the fertile area around Gullane and Dirleton. The downfall of the Ruthvens, after years of political manoeuvring against King James VI, led to the castle being abandoned as a residence in 1600 also 6 suspected witches were imprisoned in the castle.
Dirleton castle itself was a well-appointed home surrounded by spacious grounds, castle life was generally peaceful..But during the first War of Independence with England in 1296 to 1329, the residents endured numerous sieges, siege again and again centuries later, the attack came in 9 November 1650 by Oliver Cromwell's, soldiers came when a garrison was stationed in the castle, but at the end the castle was no longer use as a residence too much damaged! castle felt in ruins. The new owner who bough the castle called Nisbets, redesigned the surrounding as part of the landscape of their new mansion at Archerfield. The garden and the castle still draw lots of visitor to this day it's very beautiful garden and family friendly place to go..
The castle now schedule to ancient monument look after by History Scotland.
