Roatan Adventures
The little island of Roatan, Honduras holds many fun adventures! This video shows just a handful of activities on the island. For a wonderful place to stay with even better hosts, look up the Lone Star House (link below). The expat owners, Buck and Amy, also have a beautiful boat that you will see in the video. They can take you out fishing, diving, snorkeling, or just cruising on the water. Other fun adventures (best when there aren't any cruise ships in port) is Arch's Iguana Farm and the best of all David Johnson's Monkey and Sloth Hangout.

#SubmarineLive 2019 - Submarine pressure (29th March PM)
In this activity you will learn about the challenge’s submersibles face when trying to explore the deep-sea. Submariners face the effects of pressure with increasing depth, so therefore the design of the submarine is key. The submersibles being used on Nekton First Descent can reach a depth of 1,000 feet. To put this in context, recreational scuba diving has a limit of 130 feet, but the deepest point in the ocean is an astounding 36,070 feet down. Students will investigate different types of material to see which is the best for a submarine pressure hull.

Cape Tappi Dive Tour 1 20130922
It was a beautiful sunny Sunday on the Japan Sea and our group of 10 divers (including myself and my longtime dive buddy and divemaster) enjoyed two dives on the Tappi Arch and canyons. The sea was a bit rough and the visibility not that great (25 to 30 feet), but the sunshine and warm water made up for it. We spotted Hawaiian Sergeant Majors and even a Lionfish (not common here at all!). This is dive 1 following my standard tour route which runs about 40-45 minutes with a maximum depth of 48 feet. This is an easy dive profile and well suited to all skill levels. A few of the divers today were making their first dives after being certified.

TRYING IGUANA STEW, Roatan, Honduras. │ My Travel Journal
Today we will look for the IGUANA STEW here in Roatan, Honduras. Somebody told us that is very popular so we have to try it, or well, Ksenija has to try it, haha, I will just film, haha.
Roatan is a nice Island where you can see the mix of Nature, beaches and a very good Vibe.
We came with a cruise, so off course we came to Mahogany bay, a port built by Carnival cruises.
A lot of cruise lines come here, Carnival, Costa, Holland America, etc. They have their own beach, The Mahogany Beach, very nice and good restaurants.
After the beach we went to the town to find the IGUANA STEW.
I hope you enjoy this video and please if you have any suggestions, or if I forget to mention something, please comment, comment and comment.

•
Trivia: Gumbalimba Park is named after one of the native tree species in Honduras, the Gumbalimba Tree. This tree has a bright red, peeling, smooth bark and dark green leaves. Look for cut limbs from this tree used as fence posts on Roatan. Many of them will be growing, as the Gumbalimba tree can resprout from a broken branch!
GUMBALIMBA PARK is a family-friendly attraction in the island of Roatan that offers its visitors the opportunity to mingle with friendly white-face Capuchin monkeys and free-flying exotic birds (Including macaws, parrots, and hummingbirds). Visitors can spot indigenous lizards and iguanas all around the park. Tourist gaze at a variety of almost 2500 preserved insects from around the world in an air-conditioned insectarium, wander through a dense tropical jungle with nature trails, a suspension bridge, colorful flowers and butterflies, numerous waterfalls and more than 200 vibrant plant and tree species. Visit a pirate’s cave filled with maps, weapons, and artwork to learn about their history in the Bay Islands, swim at the kid-friendly freshwater pool, grab a delicious lunch and much more.
Adventure seekers can also get their adrenaline rush with Gumbalimba Park’s Monkey Trail Canopy (zip-lining) Tour. The tour has 17 platforms or stations with 13 stretches of cable available for the canopy, each measuring between 120 and 500 feet in length. The tour will take approximately one hour. The first tree platform is 60 feet high, and if that isn’t enough, the Monkey Trail Canopy will provide a mesmerizing view of the Caribbean Sea from the treetops of some of the best botanical gardens in Roatan; a very special treat.
But, what is an island without water activities? Not an island, of course. Thankfully, Gumbalimba Park knows best and offers its visitors an amazing array of options for water activities.
Gecko Cafe offers refreshments and food while lounging around the fresh water pool. Experience Coxen’s Pirate Cave and numerous waterfalls and fountains in the Gumbalimba Park. You might run into Jack Sparrow there, among the life size pirates, treasures, weapons, and maps. Cross the suspension bridge before the pirates get you! Relax on the beach or pick a water-sport activity or two while visiting this sought out Roatan Island excursion. Additional activities at Gumbalimba Park include: Monkey Trail Canopy Zipline, SNUBA diving, snorkel & mask rental, and kayaking.
