Mohe County is located in the northwest of Heilongjiang Province, the northern foothills of Greater Khingan Range, and the south bank of the upper reaches of the Heilongjiang River. The area of the county is 18 thousand square kilometers. Also, Mohe County and Russia are facing each other separated by Heilongjiang River, and the border line of the county is 242 kilometers long, known as the “Shenzhou Arctic”. In addition, Mohe County is a well-conserved mountainous place with high coverage and rich tourist resources. It is a natural summer resort and a forest oxygen bar with the average summer temperature about 19 degrees in summer. The winter is cold and has a snow period over 210 days; the unique “extreme north”, “extremely cold”, “polar night”, and rich ice and snow resources are great advantages stimulating ice and snow tourism industry. Besides, Mohe County is rich in products: blueberries, hedgehog hydnum, mushrooms, ganodorma lucidum, etc.; cold water fish in Heilongjiang River is well-known; gold mining of rouge gully has over a century-old history. The mysterious aurora, the vast forest, the splendid river scenery, wooden houses, and idyllic farmhouse make everyone have a deep longing for those beautiful landscapes. Greater Khingan Range is located in the northeast China, and in the “crown of the golden rooster”. She borders Lesser Khingan Range to the east, Hulun Buir to the west, Nenjiang Basin to the south, and Russia to the North across a river called the Heilongjiang River. It is covered with mountains and green forests, known as the “emerald in the golden crown”. The Arctic village of Mohe County, also known as the Shenzhou Arctic, is the northernmost point of the territory of mainland China, and the only place in China to see aurora. There are several tourist resources in Greater Khingan Range in which the Heilongjiang River is originated from, Tuoba, the builder of Northern Wei Dynasty, rises, the largest virgin forest in China grows, and the ancient gold courier station site remains. More than 80,000 square miles of the virgin forest and 180 days of snow period make the Greater Khingan Range a cool resort in summer and a snow-covered paradise in winter. There are also many sites of resisting foreign invasion hidden in the dense forests, and the spirit of breaking through the alpine region is all over the mountains and forests.

Winter Scenes of Rime, Mist Awe Visitors in China
As winter unfurls across China, rime has built a wonderland in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, while soft mist veiled cities of east China's Jiangsu province.
In Xunke County of Heilongjiang Province, pure white rime blanketed the trees along the county's Kuerbin River, forming a natural wonder stunning to the eye.
The county's temperature can drop to 30 degrees Celsius below zero in winter, but the river stays warm due to the hydropower station upstream. The warm water feeds vapor into the air, which condenses into fog and floats along the water before freezing onto any tree branches they touch.
When the sun comes out, warm orange sunlight falls on the rime-covered wonderland of trees, making the scenery even more amazing.
The biting cold can't dampen visitors' enthusiasm to appreciate and record the poetic scenery along the river banks.
It's so beautiful! So gorgeous! We could never see such a magnificent view in regions south of the Yangtze River. This trip is really worthwhile. I will definitely come here again, said Bian Min, a visitor from Jiangsu province.
But Jiangsu province has its own breathtaking views. As the temperature there dropped below zero degrees Celsius, the great temperature swing between day and night helps form the hazy mist over some Jiangsu cities.
In Jurong City of the province, hazy mist rose from the reservoir before sunrise to blur the trees and mountains in the distance.
As the sun began to rise, rays of sunshine dyed the white mist in warm red, bringing a sense of warmth to the cold winter.
