I-Pace Vlog - Arduaine Gardens Road Trip Pt 1
Welcome along on another road trip through Scotland with the I-Pace. Having discovered the ABC strategy, I decided to try it again today, in order to avoid the Charger Anxiety that the I-Pace and ChargePlace Scotland seem to induce!
This is episode 1 of a 3 part mini series covering my day trip to Arduaine Gardens, a National Trust for Scotland property on the West coast. This episode covers the drive to Loch Lomond, and along Loch Long to Lochgilphead. Will Today be the day I finally lose a game of Charger Roulette?

Inverewe Gardens ( National Trust Scotland) May 2019
Join me for a look at around at the beautiful Inverewe Gardens. National Trust Scotland look after and own these gardens at Inverewe in the North West of Scotland. This whole area is wonderful, however we only had enough time to visit the gardens on this day trip. It was a long journey from our holiday accommodation ( 125 miles each way ) it took about 3 hrs each way! The weather was dull and wet for most of the drive there. Thankfully by the time we started to walk around the huge gardens the sun came out and it was just perfect. The gardens are
The garden is perched on a peninsula at the edge of Loch Ewe amid the rugged landscape of Wester Ross. This historic garden is 21 hectare (54 acre) is one of Scotland’s most popular botanical attractions. It is surrounded by over 809 hectares (2,000 acres) of estate managed for conservation.
It was created out of bare rock and a few scrub willows in 1862 by Osgood Mackenzie.
This garden it’s full of colourful, exotic plants from around the world. Including the most northerly planting of rare Wollemi pines, olearia from New Zealand, Tasmanian eucalypts, rhododendrons from China and many more trees and plants from around the world. These plants flourish here, despite the northerly latitude, thanks to the warm currents of the Gulf Stream and the foresight of Osgood Mackenzie, who planted over 40 hectares (100 acres) of woodland to shelter the garden.
It is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful gardens in Scotland, Inverewe is a must for anyone who loves nature. I agree it is a beautiful place to visit however I actually prefer another of the NTS gardens just below Oban called Arduaine Garden I did a video from there last May here is the link.

Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens
Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens are a magical place to walk while visiting Argyll. A beautiful woodland trail takes you to the tallest tree in Britain. During April and May the gardens are awash with colour from Rhodendrons and bluebells.
It is a great place to visit while staying at the lochside self catering house on Loch Goil - Rhumhor Holiday Lodge. Rhumhor is a stunning lochside cottage on the shores of Loch Goil. With 5 bedrooms it sleeps 9/10 people in comfort and style. rhumhor.com.

Minterne Gardens, Dorset
MINTERNE GARDENS - a fascinating Himalayan collection of rhododendrons & azaleas has been listed in The Top Ten Gardens in The Times. Set in the Minterne Valley and landscaped in the manner of Capability Brown in the 18th Century, Simon Jenkins, a Guardian journalist, called it A Corner of Paradise.
The images in this slideshow were all taken in May 2014 by RHS Photographer of the Year 2012, Josie Elias. Late Spring is a spectacular time in the gardens offering a fantastic display of colour and interest. The gardens are laid out in a horseshoe below Minterne House, with a chain of small lakes, waterfalls and streams. They contain an unique collection of Himalayan Rhododendrons and Azaleas, with Spring bulbs, Cherries, Maples and many fine and rare trees. The garden is also noted for its Autumn colouring. Do subscribe to our channel to follow the videos of the garden through the seasons.
Opening Times:
The Gardens are open daily between 16th February to 9th November, between 10am and 6pm. Admission is £5.00, & there is a ticket kiosk at the entrance. Children under 12 are admitted free.
