Areekkal waterfalls is one of the least explored waterfalls in Ernakulam district, Kerala. Areekkal waterfalls is situated near Piramadam, Ernakulam. Areekkal waterfalls offer a mind-blowing perspective of the goodness of nature with its multi-stepped cascading waterfall and is considered as one of the best waterfalls near Cochin city.
Areeckal is a small waterfall but its definitely enjoyable. Areekkal waterfall is a perfect destination for spending some time with friends & family or to escape out from the overloaded city life. From the main road proceed through the paved pathway via the rubber plantation to reach the waterfalls. Also, areeckal waterfalls is well maintained and we were able to see a security guard while our visit to the waterfall

Aruvikkal Waterfall [ Pampakuda, Kerala, India ]

Areekkal waterfalls is situated near Piramadam, Eranakulam. Areekkal waterfalls offer a mind-blowing perspective of the goodness of nature with its multi-stepped cascading waterfall and is considered as one of the best waterfalls near Cochin city. Nature has been benevolent to Pampakuda. Aruvikkal waterfall, which has a height of around 100 feet, is arguably the highest in Ernakulam district. During June-October the waterfall attracts a large number of visitors as the amount of water increases due to rains.On Saturday and Sunday, families visit the area. Majority of the visitors come from Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur andKannur districts. Local people use Aruvikkal waterfall as a backdrop to shoot wedding videos. It is a major tourist destination for the people in and around the area. During monsoon the waterfall is more beautiful and attracts large number of people. Areeckal is a small waterfall but its definitely enjoyable. Areekkal waterfall is a perfect destination for spending some time with friends & family or to escape out from the overloaded city life. Kochareekkal Caves is nearby Areekkal waterfalls. Kochareekkal Caves is a perfect place to visit and relax, enjoy the evening. You can plan to visit both these places in a single day.

അരീക്കൽ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം | Areekkal Water Falls Piramadam-Vettimood Road, Kochi, Kerala

എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ മുവാറ്റുപുഴയിൽ നിന്ന് 13 കിലോമീറ്റർ മാത്രം അകലത്തിലാണ് ഈ മനോഹരമായ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം സ്ഥിതി ചെയുന്നത്.

മഴക്കാലം സജീവമാകുന്ന കേരളത്തിലെ അനേകം വെള്ള ചാട്ടങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്ന്. അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ മഴ കാലമാണ് ഇവിടം സന്ദർശനം നടത്താൻ ഉചിതമായ സമയം.

മുവാറ്റുപുഴയിൽ നിന്ന് പിറവം റൂട്ടിൽ 13 കിലോമീറ്റർ സഞ്ചരിച്ചാൽ ഈ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിൽ എത്താൻ കഴിയും. വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രവേശനം പാസ്സ് മൂലം നിയന്ത്രിച്ചിരുന്നു. മുതിർന്ന ആൾക്ക് 10 രൂപ എന്ന പാസ്സ്. മനോഹരമായി പരിപാലിക്കുന്ന ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്ന് ഒട്ടും അധികമായി തോന്നുന്നില്ല.

Areekkal falls (അരീക്കൽ) is a must see beautiful place in Kochi, Its 35 kilometers away from the main city on the Ernakulam – Thodupuzha road. One can reach Areekkal falls within one hour travel from kochi main city.
The falls is an awesome destination one day outing with the family. The location is surrounded by moderate forest and rubber plantations , you can really enjoy the peace of environment combined by fresh air and occasional rains making it a cool destination for travelers.
