Off the Gulf of Orosei is the wreck of a World War II KT12 that can be explored thanks to the fascinating diving organized by the Dimensione mare Diving Center in Gonone!

A real pearl for those who enjoy diving and adventure: divers make it the most beautiful wreck in the Mediterranean. The KT12 was built in Livorno on a commission of the German Navy and delivered in 1943: it was an armed warship that was supposed to carry cargo, truck, and fuel to North Africa. However, he was attacked on his first trip on June 10, 1943, from the Safari submarine and hit the bow: the bow immediately dropped, while the rest of the ship drifted down by a terrible fire.

Many were the dead and wounded, who were helped by the inhabitants of Orosei and transported by vehicles to the nearest hospitals.
