Located in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the park is a stunning 250-acre example of adaptive reuse, created on the former site of a glass-making factory. It offers architectural ruins, lakes, observation tower, walking trails, steel sculptures, a museum, and connections to both the Kokosing Gap Trail and the Heart of Ohio Trail.

Ariel Foundation Park was once part of a gravel quarry and today it has become one of the nicest community parks in Ohio. We used a DJI Phantom for this flyover video of The Lakes of Ariel Foundation Park. The Lakes are highlighted by several pavilions as well as paved walking paths, benches, a historic bowstring truss bridge and an Island that features a 360 degree panoramic view. This short video offers a unique view of the lakes section of the Ariel Foundation Park.

A pretty neat park in Mount Vernon Ohio with great fishing. At one point there were plans on free camping with electric hookups, however it never materialized and we have been told camping is not allowed.

Area 51 in Mount Vernon, Ohio
Field camera caught this on 7-30-09 between 12:01 AM and 1:30 AM. Cops called, they investigated, local plant said nothing unusual as always. The camera takes pictures every minute. The shots that didn't have anything unusual were left out. Smoke was smelled as well and a thick fog appeared not long after.
