I make videos of tourist spots in the Philippines, things to see, what to do, and where to stay around Puerto Galera and If you’ve had your fill watching marine animals while scuba diving for the day but would like to still continue your underwater adventures then shipwreck diving is the next option for you!
Shipwrecks are a common sight at the bottom of the seafloor here in the Philippines; some are relics from an old era while others are just plain old sunken vessels. Go and explore shipwrecks in the sea floor with an underwater camera in hand, check out every nook and cranny, but watch out for sharp edges or objects! Plan your stay with us here in the Philippines to get both experiences of scuba diving and shipwreck diving!
Diving down to sunken shipwrecks is one of the joys of SCUBA diving. Arizona Dive Shop in Subic Bay recently got the opportunity to create their own house wreck when Mark, the divemaster, gained control of an abandoned twenty-meter fishing vessel.
The shop cleaned and prepared the ship and then sunk it 250 meters offshore from the Arizona Dive Resort. The ship will now become an artificial reef and be a great place for divers to do advanced open water training, do night diving, and of course, wreck diving.
This ship sinking was a great investment for the dive shop as it will provide their customers with some awesome shipwreck diving. For you, it's just like witnessing a shipwreck caught on tape!
In this video, Sean interviews Mark about the soon to be wrecked fishing boat. Then they sink it! They placed a camera inside so you get to watch the hull flood caught on camera.
Cheers,
Sean

Arizona Dive Shop Subic Bay. House wreck Night Dive. 2013
6 months ago we sunk our own house wreck at the front of our dive resort. Leaving its marker of so it can have some time to settle and create a home for the marine life of Subic Bay we did our first night dive on her 3 nights ago. World One Arizona House Wreck is good to go. Come dive with us and check her out day or night. arizonadivesubic.com
Subic Bay M3 Halftracks.
Subic Bay is fortunate to have some amazing Shipwreck diversity, having more than 20 wrecks spanning over 100 years.
The M3 Halftracks first saw service in the battle of the Philippines and these two met their fate at the bottom of the bay in 37m of water.
Truly an amazing dive as they are approx. 9m apart and upright with both 75mm Howitzers upright in firing positions.
Remarkably intact and home to large schools of fish and 2 resident morays these should definitely be on a divers bucket list. The big question is how did they get there ???

Subic Bay Philippines Douglas Skyraider Wreck
We recently did a wreck dive and visited the Douglas Skyraider wreck (We believe it's the AD 5Q but will know more later; the A1 listing in the video is incorrect) here in Subic Bay Philippines. This is a recently discovered wreck so we wanted to check it out, hope you enjoy the video!
CCR Diving on the Savage Bomber in Subic Bay
This post WW2 Bomber rests at 70 metres and just outside Subic Bay. 3 CCR divers teamed up with the Arizona Dive Shop to get some nice footage of this amazing wreck. The divers were Vlad Vibuls, Karl Hurwood and Miko Zulueta.
Thanks to the guys for the footage and a big thanks to Vlad for putting it all together.

Japanese L2D Tabby WW2 Plane Wreck Subic Bay
Another of our favourite wrecks here in Subic Bay!
This WW2 era plane rests upside down, just 20 mins from the dive shop. With a school of big red snapper and a resident 1m + grouper it is enjoyed by wreck divers and also fish lovers!
The engine and propeller lay just a few metres from the wreck and all steering and controls are still in place, albeit upside down.
The cargo hold is still home to a bunch of whiskey/beer bottles also...
