Traveling inside and outside of the US as an international student | Arizona State University
International students at Arizona State University are eligible to travel both inside and outside of the United States. However, you need to make sure you follow certain regulations to travel safely. When you travel within the U.S. to any of the 50 states or to the U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands), be prepared to take the following documents with you: a valid I-20 or DS-2019, a valid electronic I-94 printout or I-94 card, and a valid passport. You may be required to show your immigration documents to an officer of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. There are several checkpoints throughout the U.S.
When planning to travel outside of the U.S., please check the travel endorsement page of your I-20/DS-2019 for a valid travel signature by a designated school official or alternate responsible officer from ASU ISSC. Travel signatures are valid for one year from the date of the last signature. You can request a travel signature by using our e-forms process online
You must have the following documents to return to the U.S. in student or exchange visitor status: a valid F-1 or J-1 visa, an ASU I-20 or DS-2019 with travel signature endorsed within 1 year, a passport valid six months into the future, and an enrollment verification and ASU unofficial transcript. After you arrive back in the U.S., you should check your I-94 record.

Arizona sunshine. We've got plenty of it. Some say the Valley of the Sun is hot — but we prefer to say it never gets cold. Sun Devils at Arizona State University experience sunny days in every season, enjoy the many grassy lawns surrounded by palm trees and year-round flowers, and being able to enjoy your iced coffee anytime of the year. So when your friends or relatives are complaining about walking to class in a blizzard or pouring rain, you can send them a picture of you enjoying your time in the sun while studying or playing on one of the many outdoor intramural teams, but remember always wear your sunscreen.

ASU welcomes applications from students with diverse academic backgrounds and interests. Hear from an Arizona State University student about her experience applying to college.
A freshman is defined as a student who has graduated from a regionally accredited high school and has completed fewer than 12 transferable college credits post-high school. Freshman applicants who possess a high school diploma and meet the outlined requirements ( will be admitted to ASU.
An international student is a student on a J-1 or F-1 visa who is not a citizen of, or a permanent resident of, or a refugee in the United States of America. Success at ASU begins with a strong comprehension of the English language. Because our rigorous courses are taught in English and move at a fast pace, fluency in the language is necessary for understanding concepts and expressing yourself effectively.
Applicants whose native language is not English must provide evidence of English language proficiency by submitting test scores from one of the following:

2019 ASU Day at the Capitol | Arizona State University
ASU Day at the Capitol has become a staple in the interaction between the Arizona State Legislature and the university since its inaugural event 33 years ago. Every year Arizona State University brings representatives from some of its many departments, programs and initiatives to show legislators what the university is working on.
From an original copy of the Gettysburg Address in Abraham Lincoln’s own writing to a virtual reality program that is currently enabling online students all across the globe to learn lab safety from their own homes, there was a lot to experience.
ASU Day at the Capitol also serves as an opportunity for many ASU students to get an introduction to the way that the Legislature operates and to interact with senators and representatives from all across the state — even their own districts.
