VENANGO PARK ATV TRAIL @ KANOPOLIS LAKE 7/9/18 (1/3)
Riding around the lake's ORV area. It's very small and took me about 5 minutes to ride along the perimeter of the whole area. It's the closest public trail that I know of from Wichita, KS. It's a neat little trail and I was the only one there riding but it was Monday and 7PM lol. You could probably spend a few hours here but I got bored fast and left after 15-20 minutes.

Hiking in Wichita - Visit Wichita - Park Travel Review
We were very excited to visit Wichita and find out about the hiking in Wichita. It was great to see so much great space in a city so large!
Swanson Park - 93.22 acres - This tract of land, acquired in 1975, has been designated a Wichita Wild Habitat area.
Air Capital Memorial Park - 9.55 acres. This wooded trail system consists of three loops with a total distance of 1.8 miles and is often utilized by bike riders, but is friendly to those walking and hiking as well.
Pawnee Prairie Nature Park - 624.49 acres. Pawnee Prairie Park is located south of, and separate from, Air Capital Park but they are only a few minutes apart by car. This semi-regional park along the Cowskin Creek contains a variety of plants and wildlife. The park has been designated as a Wichita Wild Habitat area and is the largest in the Wichita Park system. Facilities include a five-mile marked trail in three connecting loops as well as many unmarked trails.

The River Trail
▶ Check out my gear on Kit:
A beautiful 12.5-mile one-way hike from one bridge at Arkansas Highway 246 to another at US Highway 278. The trail starts with a killer view of the Cossatot River, then winds its way across a lot of steep ridges and a bunch of bridges. The trail is beautiful through this area but you don't get a lot of open views of the river.
You finally come to the Ed Banks bridge at roughly mile 4.5 and it's really the only time you have to cross the river except for the low water bridge right at the very end.
The Ed Banks bridge has been built up at some point in the recent past and you can get through there very easily. The trail has amazing ridge views down to the river soon after the bridge crossing.
I hit Cossatot Falls next and it was fairly crowded so I moved on pretty quick. I didn't see too many people on the trail but I did see a few after leaving the Falls area but it thinned out pretty fast and I was alone again all the way to the end of the trail.
I made it back to the Ed Banks area and camped after a little over 20 miles for the day. I hiked out the next morning a little over 4 miles back to the car making it a total of 25 trail miles.
An Amazing overnight hike that is fairly easy and very rewarding. The trail is blazed in blue and you will find that there are plenty of marks and it would be impossible to get lost, super easy to follow.
Thanks for watching!!!
