4K AUTUMN AT ARLEY ARBORETUM
It was a dry day on the 20th Oct when we went to Arley Arboretum and Gardens in Worcestershire. We start at the entrance and move into the Italian garden with its two fountains. Next is the Acer Glade past the magnificent pines to the 65M long Laburnum Arch. We make our way past the well that looks more like a Hobbit house. Then back towards the Secret Garden where the chickens roam and Carol found a swing. Next was the Hornbeam Maze. The Severn Viewpoint would have been a little more spectacular if the steam train had been going past, but we couldn’t wait another hour. Then into the Magnolia Garden where our mouse enjoyed the view. The sights sounds and rhythms of the Severn Valley village of Arley north Worcestershire featuring the Severn Valley Railway, an angle grinder and a guinea fowl in an everyday tale of country folk.
The manor of UPPER ARLEY was given to the college of Wolverhampton by Wulfrun, the founder, about 996.
The Severn Valley line was built between 1858 and 1862, and linked Hartlebury, near Droitwich, with Shrewsbury, a distance of 40 miles. The important intermediate stations were Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn, Bewdley, Arley, Highley, Hampton Loade, Bridgnorth, Coalport, Ironbridge, Buildwas, Cressage and Berrington.

Mostly hidden by trees, the 12.11 departure from Arley heads towards Highley. A long shot across the valley, but a good sound from the 37 if you have some decent speakers & turn up the volume!! Some nice country sounds as well.
