Armacao dos Buzios, Brazil and one of the best places in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After a few days in Arraial do Cabo, Rio de Janeiro and Cabo Frio, Brazil, I ended my time on this peninsula checking out the town called Armacao dos Buzios or simply Buzios. One of the trendiest places in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Buzios is a small town wrapped in water and jungle. The center of Armacao dos Buzios, Rio de Janeiro is a cobblestone street lined with cool shops and hip restaurants. Even the subway in Buzios is elegant!

Armacao dos Buzios is one of my favourites places in Brazil and definitely one of my favourite places in Rio de Janeiro. I highly recommend visiting Buzios, Rio de Janeiro, as there are many things to do here. This is one of the best places to travel in Brazil and especially Rio de Janeiro.

In this video we spend a week in Buzios in a beautiful house and we head to a new years party by Privilège. Armacao dos Buzios (or Buzios) is a Brazilian resort set on an ocean peninsula east of Rio de Janeiro. It's known as an upscale vacation destination with numerous beaches. These include Horseshoe, on a calm horseshoe bay with water sports, and Geribá, a popular surfing site. Among its village streets, cobbled Rua das Pedras is a center of dining and nightlife.

Armacao Dos Buzios Travel Video - Beautiful Búzios sits on a jutting peninsula scalloped by 17 beaches. A simple fishing village until the early 60s, when it was discovered by Brigitte Bardot and her Brazilian boyfriend, its now one of Brazils most upscale and animated seaside resorts, littered with boutiques, fine restaurants, villas, bars and posh pousadas. The Mediterranean touch introduced by the Portuguese has not been lost -- indeed, the narrow cobblestone streets and picturesque waterfront contribute to Búzios image as Brazils St Tropez.
Búzios is not a single town but rather three settlements on the same peninsula -- Ossos, Manguinhos and Armação de Búzios. Ossos (Bones), at the northern tip of the peninsula, is the oldest and most attractive. It has a pretty harbor and yacht club, plus a few hotels and bars. Manguinhos, on the isthmus, is the most commercial. Armação, in between, is the heart of town, with the most Travelist amenities; its here that youll find Rua das Pedras, the hub of Búzios nightlife, and Orla Bardot, the towns picturesque beachfront promenade.

► Buzios: The official name of the city is 'Armação dos Búzios', but everyone just refers to it as 'Búzios'. This is a beach community in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and a popular getaway for Brazilians and Argentinians. Basically an unknown fishing village until the 1960s, it was made famous by French actress Brigitte Bardot.
► Rua das Pedras: Translating, the name means stones' street, and that's exactly what you'll see. More than that, it's Buzios' main street, with an active nightlife and a nice variety of shopping and restaurants.
► Orla Bardot: Named after Brigitte Bardot, this is the strip of land that connects Praia da Armação with Rua das Pedras, the main street in town. Brigitte Bardot is also honored along the oceanfront path with a bronze statue.
► Praia da Armação: This beach is located downtown, next to Rua das Pedras and in front of Orla Bardot. To this date, it is still full of fishing boats. Their old houses have been restored and are now lovely restaurants and pousadas. From this beach, you can get the boat tours to the various other beaches in Buzios.

On the peninsula that seems more like an island, the beaches are the main stars. There are 23 little pieces of heaven, each with its unique charm and style. Geribá, the young crowd’s favorite, attracts surfers year round. While the calm waters of Tartaruga and João Fernandes beaches are more suitable for those travelling with little ones. The same goes for Ferradura, which features kayaks, banana boats … The central waterfront, formed by the Canto, Armação and Praia dos Ossos beaches, has a scenery worthy of a fishermen’s village, peppered with colorful boats. Starting from there you can walk to the beautiful Azeda and Azedinha beaches, which are tiny and surrounded by lush vegetation. On the other side of town, great winds are a daily staple of Manguinhos and Rasa beaches, which are meeting points for windsurfers and kite surfers.
