Bath, UK complete walking tour
The town center of Bath has a human scale with lowrise buildings and quiet streets lined with shops and galleries ideal for strolling, all contained in a relatively small area only about 1000 meters in one direction and 500 meters in the other. A nice place to start walking is the small Abbey Green, a peaceful courtyard with a large tree in the middle and historic old buildings all around. This courtyard is quite central. It's just one block over from the Bath Abbey and yet is easily missed because it's really not very conspicuous.

A Walk Through The Bath Railway Station, Bath, England
Bath Spa railway station is the principal railway station serving the city of Bath, in South West England and is served mainly by Great Western Railway (who also manage the station) as well as South West Trains and CrossCountry. It is situated on the Great Western Main Line and connects to the Wessex Main Line via Bradford-on-Avon.
Bath Spa station was built in 1840 for the Great Western Railway by Brunel and is a Grade II* listed building. It is in an asymmetrical Tudor style with curving gables, and lies on the north bank of the Avon, with the line swerving across from the southern bank to the station and then back again. Opened on 31 August 1840, the station was originally named Bath, but was given its present name of Bath Spa in 1949 to distinguish it from Bath Green Park station, which did not have its name altered from Bath until 1951.
A convenient feature for passengers was the ramps that led up to both platforms, giving the disabled and those with luggage easy access from the platforms to cars or taxis. However, in 2011 the northern ramp was removed in a station redevelopment which provided lifts instead. There is also a footbridge leading directly from the station across the Avon and allowing direct access to the Widcombe area. It was originally tolled, and informally known locally as the Ha'penny Bridge; it was reconstructed in 1877.
The station has wide spacing between the platforms: there were originally two broad gauge carriage sidings between the platform lines. The station was first built with a hammerbeam roof covered the area between the platforms, however this was removed in 1897 when the station was remodelling with longer platforms, The station originally had a three track goods shed immediately west of the station, to the north of the main track. In 1877 a large goods depot was built about 500 metres to the west at Westmoreland, and the goods shed was demolished for the station remodelling in 1897.

How to have the Perfect Day in Bath, England
In our final episode here in England we have made our way towards Bath to celebrate Stephens birthday.
To spend the weekend we stayed at the Queensberry Hotel, which was the perfect spot to have our getaway. I surprised Stephen with a very fancy 5 course tasting menu at the Olive Tree Restaurant for his birthday dinner...honestly one of the tastiest meals we have ever had...who thought 5 small plates could = one full belly.
Later on we headed over to Thermae Bath Spa's to have a relaxing morning in a heated spa 6 stories high above Bath. Next up we went to the original Roman baths to show you what it was like when the original baths were used during Roman times.
Then I surprised Stephen with a birthday gift...hiring a campervan and heading over to Wales :)

The City of Bath 4k Drone
The City of Bath and the beautiful countryside which surrounds it have been described as one of England’s most beautiful places to visit.
The city was founded, among surrounding hills, in the valley of the River Avon around naturally occurring hot springs where the Romans built baths and a temple, giving it the name Aquae Sulis.
As City of Bath the city became a World Heritage Site in 1987.
A city which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, making it the ideal city break destination and Bath is a World Heritage City (UNESCO), featuring the famous Roman Baths & Pump Room and simply stunning Georgian period architecture. The history of the city came across different periods starting from the Roman era.

England: Things to do in City of Bath - Roman Baths, Jane Austin, and Bus tours
After our day in Stonehenge and Avebury ( We spent a day in the City of Bath, England. We visited the Roman Baths, Jane Austen museum, and took one of the bus tours. Instead of trying to find parking in the old city or trying to afford the expensive hotels, B&B, and other accommodation in Bath, we spent the night in Swindon and took a train on the GWR railway into the city. It actually worked out to be quicker in many ways. The weather was a little overcast but the flowers were out and the it was quite warm. The Georgian architecture was a marvel and we visited the Abbey where we got a brief history lesson from a lay preacher, then to the Roman Baths which were amazing, followed by lunch at a pub, a bus tour, a playground, a visit to Jane Austen Centre, and some shopping. It was a long but fun adventure. Hope you enjoy!
