Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italy
Expanded movie about Vernazza, perhaps the most popular village in the Cinque Terre, along the Ligurian shores of Italy. We visit in the off-season, November, when the village is quiet and peaceful, a great time to be here. Walking up the hill for a view, then to Gambero Rosso restaurant for a wonderful lunch. Superb!

In this video we do a virtual tour of Vernazza along the Cinque Terre in Italy. Vernazza is a must see just as all of the villages are. This one you climb up the mountain to get a view overlooking the village from high above.

Cinque Terre hike from Monterosso to Vernazza, Italy
The trail from Monterosso to Vernazza in the Cinque Terre region of Italy offers one of the grand hiking experiences of Europe. Enjoy spectacular views as the route takes you through enchanting vineyards, along cliff edges and finally to the seaside village of Vernazza where you can celebrate with great Italian food and wine at an outdoor restaurant.
From north to south, the Five Lands of Cinque Terre are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, each about a mile apart with a total population of nearly 6,000. The hiking trail connecting them passes through terraced vineyards that offer wonderful views for much of the way and is not overly strenuous for the typical traveler. Total trail length is 7 miles, with each section between the towns covered in a comfortable walk averaging 2 hours. This episode brings you on the most popular and beautiful leg from Monterosso Al Mare to Vernazza. We present the show with multiple images sometimes in the screen toi give you a multimedia experience, and then we repeat the entire hike on a single screen later in the program with added narration. This is a practical guide showing you what the hike requires and the beauties it delivers.

CINQUE TERRE TRAVEL GUIDE 2019: Monterosso, Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Corniglia
The best CINQUE TERRE Travel Guide for 2019: Visit Monterosso, Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza & Corniglia. We did all five villages in 48 hours and each village offers a different experience. Please share your experience and tips below for other to read. Our top tips for your visit:
1. VALIDATE YOUR TRAIN TICKET: If you don't validate your ticket in the green machines then you risk being fined €50 (which we did - gutted).
2. CARRY CASH: Many places are cash only, so don't forget to carry some with you.
3. PREPARE FOR STAIRS: We were surprised by the amount of stairs and uphill climbs there were. For those with mobility issues I would recommend Monterosso and Vernazza.
4. HIKING MUST KNOWS: Planning to hike? There are lots of hikes in the Cinque Terre national park, you will have to pay to walk some of the routes (but if you bought a day train ticket then it's included). The terrain does require hiking boots and be sure to take plenty of water and sunscreen. Also the coastal walk through all five towns is no longer fully accessible. Due to a landslide you can only do a few of the routes, we did Corniglia to Vernazza and then to Monterosso.
5. NO DRONE ZONE: Drones are now banned in Cinque Terre and the villagers will approach you if you attempt to fly one.

VERNAZZA IN CINQUE TERRE, ITALY-Beautiful!
Vernazza is one of the five towns of Cinque Terre (Five Lands) in the Italian Riviera and is perhaps the most photographed due to its natural harbor. In this video, you can see me struggle to pull my heavy luggage up 105 steep stairs to get to my hotel (0:20); can see the beautiful town square (2:55) and views from up high (3:49); see how excited I am to eat some great gnocchi and gelato ((7:33); take a fantastic boat ride to get up close to three of the other four towns (7:49); but perhaps the highlight of the video is seeing me do my laundry! (12:57). After that, we go inside the main church (13:40); I summarize our trip (14:35) and then show you the best way to purchase your train tickets if you're going to another destination by train (15:45). I hope you enjoy the video!

Vernazza and Manarola, Cinque Terre, Italy
Vernazza, Italy, may be the most beautiful of all Cinque Terre villages, set perfectly in a tiny valley on the edge of the sea, with colorful homes built one on top of the next and framed by a couple of churches and towers.
The buildings have been standing for many centuries and they’re not going anywhere, so take your time, explore the little side alleys, and yes, there are going to be staircases. After all, these are hill-towns, so there are hardly any flat, level surfaces here, but it’s easy enough.
You will be snapping away with your digital machine no doubt, capturing nice memories to remind you years hence about what a joy this was, but no picture can equal the visceral thrill of being in such a stimulating place, so don’t let that camera get in the way or divert you from fully experiencing the moment. Spend a few minutes just looking, and nothing else.
It's fun just to hang out in the village for a while and do little people watching and observe the different buildings and the folks hanging out.
This walk up the hillside is really quite easy. Don't be alarmed by the stairs and elevation. You can see a lot of it is quite level and right away you get a rewarding view, this happens it within your first 10 minutes of walking up they'll you could go up higher.
Manarola spills down the hill to the waterfront, its houses packed solidly together in the typical pattern of the region, with terraced hillsides for the grapes up above.
They don’t have a beach but there is a boat ramp carved into the stone, the most popular spot around for it functions like a beach, packed with sunbathers. The ramp leads to a cove with good swimming, further protected by a stone jetty, and ladders to help people get in and out of the water.
There’s no room to put the boats in the water so they are stored up on dry land, on a ramp and along the main street as well.
There are quite a few local residents who like to hang out, sit on the bench, chat with their friends and do some people-watching. Tourists love to look at the locals, and locals equally enjoy looking back at the tourists.
Italy's Riviera: Cinque Terre
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Exploring Italy’s most remote and romantic stretch of Riviera, we visit five tiny port towns: dramatic Vernazza, surrounded by vineyards; reclusive Corniglia, high on its bluff; pastel Manarola; hardscrabble Riomaggiore; and the pint-sized resort of Monterosso. Fishing for anchovies, sipping wine out of rustic barrels, and savoring twinkling Mediterranean vistas, we enjoy the ultimate Riviera adventure. | © 2014 Rick Steves' Europe

Cinque Terre has been a dream of mine to visit in Italy for as long as I can remember. In this vlog, I travel to 4 of the 5 villages that make up Cinque Terre, including Monterosso, Vernazza, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. TOP TRAVEL TIPS:
*To get to Cinque Terre, we flew into Milan, and took a train from Milan to Monterosso al Mare, which travelled through Genoa.
*The Cinque Terre hike is not easy, with several steep sections, but most somewhat fit people could probably do it.
*The train which links the towns is very easy and convenient, and it only takes around 15 minutes to get from one end of Cinque Terre to the other (Manorola to Riomaggori, or visa versa)
*I highly recommend staying in Monterosso. The town is the only one big enough to have anything to explore after the sun goes down. There is a west and east section of the town, with a beach, so there is plenty to do and see.
*We wish we spent three nights so we could have spent more time in Monterosso, although each of the towns are individually incredible.
*Turin (Torino) is one of my favorite cities in Italy. There are no tourists other than Italians and the city is very clean, yet Turin has that ancient Italian feel. If your travels take you near Turin, go there!

Hiking The Cinque Terre In Vernazza Italy
You can experience stunning views while hiking the Cinque Terre in Vernazza, Italy. This is a short, simple video with all the original sounds, as if being there.
We lodged in an Airbnb in Vernazza during our 4-night stay in the Cinque Terre. We filmed this moment in the evening, near sunset. You can see the tourists sunbathing on the rocks in the harbor area, and hear the children playing. You gotta love that Italian accent!
Trails link all five villages in the Cinque Terre and you should not miss it. At the very least, hike two of them. They can be someone arduous for those who avid hikers, so consider taking the ferry boat or train between the villages if you are an out-of-shape smoker with weak legs and heart! Nevertheless, the views are spectacular and worth getting a little tired and sweaty. We’re glad we had the opportunity to hike the trail.
We didn’t hike every trail since two of them were closed due to repair work. But we got a taste and enjoyed every minute. The sea air is fresh, the cliff views are dramatic and descending into each village was a treat!
To enhance your experience, we also recommend taking the ferry boat between the villages to get some photos from a different vantage point.
