Weird Graffiti art for the KM8 Gallery, Belgrade

Graffiti artists from Germany beautify the outside walls of the KM8 art gallery in Belgrade for the opening of the Belgrade goes Weird-exhibition on 2nd of July 2014.
About the exhibition:
The Weird street art collective showecase (Germany-Austria).
In their street art and illustration works, The Weird are combining influences coming from popular urban culture, XX century avantgarde visual styles, SF and b-horror movies, with an unavoidable touch of humor and irony, which are so characteristic for the graffiti art.
This time, six members of this extremely productive collective will introduce their works on paper, illustrations and prints. Artworks on display are for sale, and the exhibition can be reached between 2nd and 8th of Juy, at KM8-gallery, Savamala, Marka Kraljevica 8, Belgrade, Serbia.

Damian Giacov, modern painter, was born in Belgrade 1959. He finished Academy of paint art in Belgrade, in the class of professor Momčilo Antonović. As a painter, he lived and worked more than ten years in Italy, where he actively exhibit and took part in art scene. In Italy he developed his painting techniques and put them to perfection.
He has substantively exhibited in Belgrade, New York, Modena, Venezia, Genova, Sienne and on more than forty joint exhibitions in Italy and Europe. He is continuously present in the most important European fairs of art, where he is represented by Brugno & Samuelli gallery from Venezia.
Except rarely occasions - 1991 in Stara kapetanija gallery and 1996 in Hotel Hayat - our audience and reviewers had an opportunity to meet him in the Saloon of the Contemporary art museum (February, 1999) in Belgrade. He showed about thirty paintings (oil on canvas), as well as his 3D works, the bronze sculptures.

Slikar Stojan Pačov je rođen 1934. godine u Strumici, Makedonija. Magistrirao je na Akademiji likovnih umetnosti u Beogradu 1960. godine, od kada je i član ULUS-a. Više puta je izlagao u zemlji i inostranstvu i učestvovao u mnogobrojnim grupnim izložbama i humanitarnim akcijama. Živeo je i stvarao u Beogradu (1934-2015).
Artist Stojan Pačov was born in 1934 in Strumica, Macedonia. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Belgrade in 1958 and received his Masters of Arts in 1960. Since then, he was a member of Association of Serbian Artists (ULUS). He lived and worked in Belgrade, Serbia (1934-2015).

Jovana Tomanovic was born in Belgrade in 1982. She lives in Milano for last 23 years, where she have graduated at the Fine Arts Academy of Brera in 2005 for the main painting section and also have taken a master degree in 2008 in Visual Arts with a specialisation in sculpture. For 6 years she have been working at Flash Art International as head of marketing and advertising and for 7 years she was a proud and successfull founder of a Charitable Founda- tion named SAVREMENA DECA - Art Education for Unprivilaged Children in Serbia. Within last two years Jovana took a decision to focus full time on her own life and art production and find a gallery to rapresent her work and lounch it to the international market.
This serial of works have been painted between two studios, one in Milan and the other one in Julian Alps. A Slovenian village named Bovec is a place where the meditation and inspira- tion cames from and developes in two main themes of growing grass and giant butterflies. The tehnique is oil on canvas and the usual dimension is a landscape format 150 x 240 cm.
It have been presented to the public for the first time during ArtePadova art fair, Nov.2016

Vienna, Austria -- For those traveling Europe on a budget and hoping to avoid the flea fest of tourists, cafes and over-priced wine and dine venues or who might have missed the free entry day at the museums, an outdoor gallery of urban art awaits below city level -below the noise pollution and the hustle and bustle. The Danube Canal breaks off from its mother river and slithers like a snake through downtown. In the colder months, the river hibernates making the walk along the banks a tranquil stroll in which to lose oneself in thought. While the mind wanders, the eyes feast on a kaleidoscope of bright colors sprayed on the brick walls that unfold a comic-book style panoramic exhibition of contemporary, urban graffiti.
As you cruise along the path, an occasional jogger or cyclist whispers by as wall-to-wall murals consume every bare, gray surface of stone, brick or cement. Used plastic spray tips lie scattered on the ground like empty bullet casings after a showdown. Take the bus or metro east of the old town center of Stephenplatz to either the Schwedenplatz or the Schottenring stop. Either stop will leave you at the canal and at any crossing bridge, take the stairway down to the canal banks and you'll find yourself at the gallery which provides a couple of hours of easy exercise and a free art tour, weather permitting
