Doline Media Installation at the Art Gallery of Hamilton
Doline is a sculptural installation of office fixtures seemingly submerged in the floor, which slowly rotate to the soundtrack of people remembering their dreams about falling. Doldrums uses 3D glasses, multiple projections and mirrors, furthering a sense of disorientation while exploring the role we all play in this era of
the digital abyss. This video was shot in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on Sunday July 27, 2014.

Art Gallery of Hamilton-26.2.17
Interrogating the different layers of Canadian experience-on the 150th anniversary of Canada (1867-2017)..Last year we visited the Benares Historic House and Bradley Museum in Mississauga's Port Credit area.
A False Fire Alarm, gave me the opportunity to talk to Bill Manson, who was conducting these Museum walks- explaining the nuances of Sewing, Haida Art.. I got more serious about these projects after I retired from teaching. I used to teach Theatre and English.
In 16 years, he has authored four books and is working on more projects. Went through his book on History of Transportation and Neighborhoods...was an eye-opener on how anyone can engage in the rich histories associated with one's neighborhood communities.
Many things learnt- while waiting for the All Clear- from the False Fire Alarm at the Art Gallery of Hamilton-26.2.17.
Unbuilt Hamilton at the Art Gallery of Hamilton
Unbuilt Hamilton is an exhibition and book that presents the Ambitious City at its most ambitious, exploring unrealized building, planning, and transportation proposals from the early 19th century to the early 21st. Drawing on archival illustrations, plans, and photographs from Mark Osbaldeston’s forthcoming book, the projects showcased include a magnetically propelled, elevated transit system, a vast mountain war memorial, and a plan from 1917 that would have transformed Ferguson Avenue into the Champs-Élysées. Alternate designs for Jackson Square, Christ’s Church Cathedral, and the Thomas McQuesten High Level Bridge cast new light on familiar landmarks. Unbuilt Hamilton presents the Hamilton that might have been.
A Hamilton native, Mark Osbaldeston’s first book, Unbuilt Toronto, was the basis for an exhibition at the Royal Ontario Museum and was a finalist for the Toronto Book Awards and the Speaker’s Book Award. It also received a Heritage Toronto Award of Merit, as did its sequel, Unbuilt Toronto 2.
On view September 24, 2016 to February 20, 2017
