What To Do In Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's most popular destinations for snow birds trying to escape the cold back home. In this video I'm sharing some fun activities you can do there, many of which are free. Start by getting a bird's eye view of the old city (centro historico) by climbing up to an old lighthouse that's now a lookout point called Mirador Matamoros. Next check out the Chocolate Museum to learn about the history and culture of chocolate in Mexico, plus make your own to take home. To walk off the sugar high, head to River Cuale Island (Isla Rio Cuale) for some shopping or to grab a bite to eat. Then I suggest joining the Art Walk to learn about Puerto Vallarta's art scene and hear the stories behind its public art. At the end of the day, stroll along the lovely walkway that winds along the water called the Malecón. Try a popular local drink called a Tuba and get a photo with the Puerto Vallarta sign. The Malecón is the perfect place to catch the sunset and end the day.

Vallarta Ink started operation in 2009. Kiki Guerrero (Tattoo Artist) came on vacation to Puerto Vallarta from Salt lake City, Utah. The art of Puerto Vallarta: Manuel Lepe
The art of one of the most important artists of Puerto Vallarta, Manuel Lepe. Featuring a brief biography on the artist with a slideshow of some of his artworks. Puerto Vallarta is Paradise, Manuel Lepe responded, when asked during an interview why he always painted angels in the skies… and why do angels fly in planes? Because the angels are tired and it is fun. Manuel Lepe was in love with Vallarta. A talented artist yet humble, human, charitable, and overall he never lost the exuberant innocence of childhood. These feelings are expressed in his ingenuous painting of Puerto Vallarta. His reputation as a painter extends beyond Mexico to the United States and Europe. Manuel was declared National Painter of Mexico by the Mexican President Luis Echeverria.
Elizabeth II Queen of England has one of Lepe's paintings in the Royal Mews Museum of Windsor Castle. His name is registered in the Naïf Painters Directory of France. He is the first and only mexican with such distinction.

We captured this show during our recent visit to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We stayed at Riu Vallarta, which actually lies in the Nuevo Vallarta, the neighboring place of Puerto Vallarta. The hotel was gigantic, a little old, but had very classic vibes and a very welcoming and relaxing environment. They provided a lot of entertainment targeted to visitors of all ages. They had shows for Kids, adults, and even Karaoke nights where mostly senior took part.
This video is from one of the nights, where they visitors were entertained with the Ancient Mexican culture. We greatly enjoyed the show and wanted to share this with rest of the world.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Over the years, Puerto Vallarta has become a very important art center, with more galleries than any other Mexican coastal destination. An important contribution to Puerto Vallarta's art scene is the Centro Historico ArtWalk which, this season, is celebrating its 23rd year of spotlighting the downtown area's many fine galleries.
The 2018-2019 Vallarta ArtWalk season kicked off on October 31, 2018 and is set to be held every Wednesday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm through May 29, 2019 at twelve participating galleries in the city's historic center.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexique: Au fil des ans, Puerto Vallarta est devenue un centre d’art très important, avec plus de galeries que toute autre destination côtière mexicaine. Le centre historique ArtWalk, qui célèbre cette année son vingt-neuvième anniversaire au cours duquel se distinguent les nombreuses galeries d'art du centre-ville, constitue une contribution importante à la scène artistique de Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta most beautiful Art Gallery, Galleria Dante and Di Vino Dante Tapas Restaurant Bar a must visit in while in Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta.
Galleria Dante is the largest fine Art gallery in Puerto Vallarta with more than 7000 square feet of show room and gardens on the first level. The gallery represents more than 60 emerging and established artists, of which the majority are Mexican artists. When Joe, Claire & Gena Guarniere purchased hacienda “Casa de Colores” in 1988 for their successful Italian restaurant “Pizza Joe” decorated with art treasures from their travels to Europe, little did they know that in 1995 they would be retiring from the restaurant to run a gallery full time. And once again it is a Casa filled with color! The gallery is an eclectic blend of styles: abstract, classical, contemporary, surreal, expressionistic and impressionistic! Another unique point of Galleria Dante is the amount of sculpture exhibited indoors and out. We ship world wide! A complete inventory is posted to the website, where clients can also order online. Galleria Dante is open 9am to 5 pm, Monday thru Friday and in high season also open Saturday 9 am to 2 pm. Or private viewings, after hours can be arranged thru Di Vino Dante Restaurant.
The Guarniere’s tastes have always leaned towards the colonial, the old. But to show the art, white walls, now replace much of the original brick. But to keep with their love of Italy, brick and stone, much of the 2nd floor has been built and decorated with recycled materials from the original home.
In November of 2013 Di Vino Dante restaurant in Puerto Vallarta opened it’s doors on the 2nd floor, incorporating many unique spaces to exhibit art. Di Vino Dante Restaurant is a full service restaurant where the owner, Gena is knowledgeable about wine and art. There is indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an air-conditioned space. Puerto Vallarta Restaurants also opening in late 2015 is a roof top garden and terrace for the expanded menu and private parties. This is not only a relaxing place to dine, with great food and drinks, it is a work of art! Gena is excited to have as part of her team, two very passionate key players: Chef Ivan Lorenzo and Mixologist: Dan Rodriquez
Di Vino Dante is open 2 to 11pm, Monday thru Saturday, but can open for private groups for brunch.

Gena Guarniere was born and raised in the family businesses – “Pizza Joe” Italian restaurant and “Galleria Dante” Fine Art gallery in Puerto Vallarta . During her second year at University “UBC” in Vancouver, British Columbia, she took “Wine Science”, to complete her Science credit. It changed her life. Growing up in an Italian family, surrounded by art and after numerous summers in Italy, she had never developed a taste for wine. With her interest peaked, and a new found love of wine, she took more wine classes, in what free time she had in completing her Fine Art degree. After studying wine theory and tasting hundreds of bottles of wine, she dreamed of how to work in the business. With jobs being scarce, the idea of moving home to open a wine bar became a reality. In all her wine classes, very little emphasis was put on Mexican wines. One thing Gena discovered on her return to Vallarta was the number of great Mexican wines available. So the idea started to form – focus on Mexican and Latin American wines, in an old Hacienda, surrounded by some of the finest Artists in Mexico . As her love for Mexican wine grew so did her desire to make people aware of these wines. Gena founded Di Vino Dante in 2013 a wine bar that focuses primarily on Mexican Wine. Parts of Mexico have a rich history in wine - Gena is enthusiastic to introduce and educate people of these fine wines.
Galleria Dante is the Largest Fine Art Gallery in Puerto Vallarta, We represent more than 50 artists. Of these artists 90% of them are Mexican. Many Different styles and techniques are represented. From emerging artist to well established museum quality work.
Inspired by the story of Dante and Beatrice, Claire and Joe opened Galleria Dante in 1995. In the beginning, most of the gallery’s pieces were classical, but over the years it has expanded. Today, Galleria Dante is the largest and most eclectic in PV, hosting more than 50 contemporary painters and sculptors that work in a wide range of styles: abstract, surreal, realism, photo-realism, and of course, classical. The countless pieces are arranged in the European salon style throughout the massive gallery’s eight rooms, including a beautiful open-air courtyard.
