BEST thing to do in PENANG - Entopia Butterfly Garden Malaysia
The best thing to do in Penang is an incredible butterfly garden called Entopia. Experiencing thousands of butterflies and releasing them into their habitat made this one of the best things to do in Penang, Malaysia in our opinion. Watch these amazing butterflies fly in slow motion and enjoy the Entopia Butterfly Garden Malaysia!
Ever since we started traveling Ryan has wanted to film a butterfly garden. It was his idea to come to Entopia Penang and walk the grounds. We were in awe at how many beautiful butterflies were flying around this Penang butterfly farm! We know Entopia is one of the best things to do in Penang with kids, but we weren’t expecting to love it so much ourselves.
Our favorite part of the Entopia butterfly garden Malaysia was being able to release new butterflies into their habitat for the first time. Each butterfly we released was flying into the wild for the very first time which felt like a really special moment. Stacia’s butterfly latched onto her finger and wouldn’t let go! We think he was afraid to take his first flight, so we strolled around the butterfly garden with our new little friend on Stacia’s finger until he was ready to fly.
Out of all the activities in Penang, this is one of the most well organized places to visit with a family or small group. Because they need to keep the conditions warm for the butterflies to thrive, Entopia is quite humid so dress accordingly. Finding outdoor activities in Penang outside of George Town Penang and Batu Ferringhi is a little tough, but we can highly recommend adding Entopia to your trip list. Being the best thing to do in Penang Malaysia for a family day trip, Entopia charges a moderate entrance fee of about $15 USD per adult and less for children.
Penang Island is one of the best places in Malaysia for holiday and CNN ranks Penang one of the best destinations in the world to travel to. We hope you enjoyed this little nature video and travel vlog and we hope you stick around for more. Visiting the Penang Botanical Gardens (Taman Kebun Bunga) Waterfall Gardens - George Town, Malaysia
In our latest travel video we venture outside of bustling George Town downtown area for a bit of a solitary retreat at the Penang Botanic Gardens (Taman Kebun Bunga) aka as the waterfall Gardens located on Jalan Air Terjun (Waterfall Road) on Penang, Malaysia. With a lush green setting, rolling hills and cheeky monkeys, the gardens are a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. We both marveled at the way the monkeys behaved throughout the park climbing, leaping, eating, sleeping and even fighting. On a quest to find the main waterfall we kept encountering tiny ones. We even noticed several monitor lizards slithering along the ground. Overall, we had a great time and would do it again.

Hello!
Today we are visiting the Botanical Gardens just outside of George Town.
If you look up over there you can see some monkeys. Actually there is another one there. That one is easier to spot. That looks like a bearded one.
Hi monkey.
So Sam let's talk about travel mistakes. How did we mess up today? Well guess what - I hardly brought any money today and as we were taking the bus to come over to the Botanical Gardens I just figured that out and I'm like 'oh no' we're totally not going to be able to get in but luckily it is free! That is good because I didn't have any money on me either. I never carry around cash. Well, thank you for that.
We woke up kind of late this morning and we were worried that it was going to be too hot by the time we got here but fortunately this place is so shady and lush and it is so much fresher than it is in George Town - especially down the side trails. It is so much cooler.
We've been on a quest for the main waterfall and just as soon as we thought we found it - it is just this humble little thing. Wow! Impressive! Amazing!
This one is still not what I envisioned but I think it could be it. It looks a bit more grand. What do you think? Maybe, maybe.
False alarm yet again. It is showing here that this is the way to the waterfall. Let's go find it.
It is nap time for the big boy. Well, third time is a charm. We have found the actual waterfalls that were outlined in the park guide but not quite as we expected. A little trickle. A trickle falls. Voila! Want to jump in for a dip? Nah.

HIDDEN TREEHOUSE in Malaysia - Discovering Penang Island
We found an incredible hidden treehouse in Malaysia while exploring the Tropical Spice Gardens. The most fun discovering Penang Island is sometimes found outside of George Town, but many tourists don’t leave the George Town historical district. We’re here to show you what northern Penang Island is all about!
First we got dropped off at the Tropical Spice Gardens in Northern Penang Island where we got to tour an 8 acre tropical forest. Malaysia is a great climate for growing all sorts of tropical herbs and spices. This is one of the coolest tourist activities we’ve done while discovering Penang Island and it’s tropical surroundings. If you looking for different things to do in Penang, the Tropical Spice Gardens should be high on your list. Save 10% of your ticket price (MYR 26 / $6USD) by booking online.
Next up we stumbled upon a hidden treehouse in Malaysia which was built as a beautiful treehouse restaurant overlooking the famous beach of Batu Ferringhi Penang. The treehouse restaurant was called Tree Monkey and it was mostly Thai Cuisine. Ryan got a coconut ice-cream banana split which he is still craving to this day haha. Not many people know about this hidden treehouse because it’s located within the Tropical Spice Garden grounds. However, there are limited tables on the view side of the restaurant so it’s best to call ahead to make a reservation!
Last but certainly not least we walked directly across the street from the hidden treehouse and tropical spice garden to Batu Ferringhi Beach for a beautiful sunset. No Malaysia travel month would be complete without a firey pink sunset! The beach was relatively calm and lacked tourists which we prefer. Batu Ferringhi beach was the perfect place to end this Penang vlog overlooking the calm and peaceful waters. We weren’t expecting so much from northern Penang Island, also known as Pulau Pinang, but we are thankful to have experienced its beauty.
If you have any questions about the hidden treehouse in Malaysia, discovering Penang Island or the Tropical Spice Gardens leave a comment down below! We will catch you in the next Penang vlog, until then, seeya!

This is Penang, Malaysia ???????? Not what we expected ???? Amazing Street Art + Colonial Tour
We spent the day exploring the colonial city of Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia and found some great things to do while visiting the city.
Penang is an island (and a state in Malaysia) situated on the north west of the country and Georgetown is the historic capital of Penang.
Georgetown is well known for its amazing street art so we started out by going on a hunt for it. A lot of the art is interactive which makes it especially unique.
Penang is also well known for its coffee culture and abundance of coffee shops, so we headed to a really cute coffee shop called Coffee Affairs to have a latte and cappuccino.
After that we headed out to explore the old historic, colonial area of Georgetown where we found the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, City Hall, and St. George’s Anglican Church, which happens to be the oldest Anglican church in Southeast Asia.
Once we were done there we explored the very busy Little India area of Georgetown where we came across a beautiful Hindu temple called Sri Mahamariamman Temple which happens to be the oldest Hindu Temple in Penang.
We finished our day by visiting the oldest mosque in Penang called Kapitan Keling Mosque.
Penang
Penang – a world renowned exotic holiday destination – was known, once upon a time, as Pulau Pinang or the “Isle of the Betel Nut”. Listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 2008, this virgin paradise has no shortage of cultural sights and natural scenery. Nicknamed the Pearl of the Orient, Penang is famous for its soft sandy beaches and is fondly regarded as the food capital of Malaysia. Some of the most interesting sites of Penang include the sandy beaches of Tanjung Bungah, the landscape from the summit of Penang Hill and the vipers in the Snake Temple. The quaint nooks and crannies of Georgetown and the Tropical Spice Garden – the only spice garden in South East Asia – as well as Penang’s many flea markets, pasar malams’, KOMTAR and modern shopping malls also merit a visit.
Places featured:
The Jubilee Clock Tower, in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, is a Moorish-style Jubilee clocktower at the junction of Light Street and Beach Street. Built to commemorate Queen Victoria's 1897 Diamond Jubilee, the tower is sixty feet tall, one foot for each year of Victoria's reign.
Georgetown City Hall The City Hall is the local government headquarters in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Built by the British, it now serves as the seat of the Penang Island City Council and was previously the seat of the George Town City Council.
Originally completed in 1903 as the Municipal Offices, the building was erected at a cost of 100,000 to relieve the demand for office space at the adjacent Town Hall. The name City Hall dates back to the grant of city status to George Town in 1957.
St. George's Church is a 19th-century Anglican church in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is the oldest purpose built Anglican church in Southeast Asia. The church lies within the jurisdiction of the Upper North Archedeaconry of the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia.
Little India is an enclave within the inner quarters of George Town, Penang. As with other Little Indias elsewhere, the Little India of George Town is lined with shops managed by the Indian Community. It's a place to enjoy a kaleidoscope of colours and sounds, with goods from India spilling to the sidewalks, the smell of various spices in the air and Indian music blaring from loud speakers.
The Kapitan Keling Mosque is a mosque built in the 19th century by Indian Muslim traders in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is situated on the corner of Buckingham Street and Pitt Street.

30 Days In PENANG - George Town Malaysia Street Art
We’ve arrived for our 30 days in Penang and our first stop is the incredible George Town Malaysia street art! George Town Penang hosts some of the best street art in the world and we are here to show you guys what it’s all about.
George Town Malaysia is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malaysia. When researching the best things to do in Penang George Town, street art is always high on the list so we just couldn’t miss it. In 2012, the city hired a Lithuanian, London trained street artists named Ernest Zacharevic. I apologize for saying he was British in the video! The George Town Penang street art is a must see Penang attraction. You can even rent a bike or take a ride on a trishaw for a leisurely roll around the streets of Georgetown.
After enjoying the historic streets of Penang, we decided to head down to the Clan Jetty area for a beer and sunset. There are 8 Clan Jetties that are owned by private Chinese Malaysian families, passed down through generations. A fun fact about the Clan Jetty is that the residents don’t have to pay taxes for being built over water. What a loophole! Penang Island history is seen here at the Clan Jetties, a place where Anthony Bourdain chose to stay and experience authentic Chinese Malaysian culture.
If the best street art in Malaysia doesn’t draw you to George Town Penang, the history, colorful streets and architecture is surely worth a visit. Plus, this is where some of the best food in the entire country resides. We hope you enjoyed this Penang vlog, and with 30 days in Penang left to explore, we can’t wait to show you the best things to do in Penang! Stick around for more Malaysia travel videos and we will see you guys in the next video. Seeya!

What to do in Penang with kids: Entopia Butterfly Farm and Secret Garden
If you only have time to visit only couple of attractions for kids in Penang, Entopia Butterfly Farm and Secret Garden should be on your list.
Entopia is so much fun, it is very educational and really organised. The first section is where you enter an indoor rainforest that looks like a scene from Avatar! Then the second section is lots of fun educational exhibits, one of them being a world of insects which sets out to explain the life of insects.
The Secret Garden is a great evening adventure, which again takes you in to fantasy world, also looking like a scene from Avatar.
Both are well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Street Art meets Culture. George Town Penang | Travel Malaysia

Penang Island Malaysia Sightseeing Temple Beach Gardens Hill Footage Vlog HD
Just found a bit of footage of our time in Penang on my phones memory card, so have chucked it all together, added some music and hopefully made a half decent video, I didn't have my DJI Mavic air at this time so no aerial shots however still awesome none the less!
Sorry its pretty short, most of the footage I found was not filmed in landscape mode so had to be edited to be landscape and also I was more of a picture taker then and didn't get much footage of some of the places we visited.
The video shows, Kek Lok Si the amazing Buddhist temple which we visited during Chinese New Year which was amazing, especially when they turn the lights on, there must of been thousands and thousands of lights to get it to look how it did. It was beautiful!
Next you can see the trip to turtle beach, this was no easy task as its approx 2.5KM walk through rough terrain and silly me decided to wear sliders... ultimate fail!!!
Once you reach Turtle beach, you find it home to a turtle sanctuary in which they are trying to repopulate the turtles.
Unfortunately we were unable to swim in the sea as it was full of huge jelly fish!!!
Lastly is Penang Botanical Gardens and Penang Hill, they are both located at the same area. The gardens were beautiful but watch out for them pesky monkeys as one tried to steal my ice cream! So much amazing wildlife to see here, and plenty of places to explore!
The Hill was much harder, we expected a nice lesuirly walk up a hill but no, it was pure torture, especially in 30 plus heat. Once you get to the top though you are rewarded of an amazing view of George town and also there is a sky walk you can walk across. However if walking isn't your thing, you can get Jeep to take you up the hill or there is a train you can jump on that takes you back down.
Check out my next video where I visit Kuala Lumpur and get some awesome aerial shots with my new DJI Mavic Air!

Hunting For the Georgetown Street Art on the Island of Penang - Malaysia, Vlog #27
Hey You!
Taeni and I moved from our wonderful beach-side home in Batu Ferringhi to the city of Georgetown. The central metropolitan of the island of Penang in Malaysia. We luckily were staying in an AirBnB just minutes walking distance to a very unique scene, the street art scene of Penang. Scattered all across the city, hidden in between buildings, behind shops, and in places you'd never expect, are street art pieces made by locals and some by artists who come from all over the world. There isn't a perfectly clear way to find them all, so you have to hunt!
So we set off from our little home into the city and spent the day searching all around for these wonderful street art pieces. Some are funny, some are spectacular, and some are in the most precarious places. If you're a fan of art, or two silly idiots getting lost in a city we've never been to before, come along for the adventure.
We hope you enjoy!
We will also be going to Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, and maybe even Tibet. And then moving onto Europe after. So stay tuned!
We hope you enjoy our adventures. Please Like and Subscribe to see more of the stuff we'll be getting up to. Comment if you'd like to say hi.
