Places to see in ( Tadcaster - UK )
Tadcaster is a market town and civil parish in the Selby district of North Yorkshire, England. It is approximately 3 miles east of the Great North Road, 12 miles north-east of Leeds, and 10 miles south-west of York.
It is the last town the River Wharfe passes before it joins the River Ouse about 10 miles (16 km) downstream. It is in the shire county of North Yorkshire, although historically split between the Ainsty of York and the West Riding of Yorkshire. The town is twinned with Saint-Chély-d'Apcher in France.
Tadcaster gave its name to a much larger rural district council, Tadcaster Rural District and other administrative areas. This may lead to confusion when comparing the size and extent of the current town with information for earlier periods. For example, the population in 1911 of the Tadcaster sub-district was 6831 compared with that of the Tadcaster Registration District, 32052 (source: A Vision of Britain through time).
Tadcaster has a long association with the brewing industry because of the quality and accessibility of the local water supply. Rich in lime sulphate after filtering through limestone, in the right conditions freshwater springs - known locally as popple-wells - still bubbling up near St Mary's church.
The eleven-arch Tadcaster railway viaduct is 1⁄4-mile (400 m) above the Wharfe bridge; it was built as part of the projected York and North Midland Railway (Leeds Extension) line from Leeds to York. Construction of the line was authorised in 1846, and much of the northern section including the viaduct had been completed when the collapse of railway investment in 1849 led to its abandonment.
Tadcaster Bridge dates back to around 1700. It is the main transport route connecting the town centre, which is divided by the river, and one of the town's two road crossings, the other being the A64 bypass bridge. The bridge partially collapsed on 29 December 2015, following flooding.
Tadcaster is served by local bus services operating from Leeds City bus station. The town is a stop on the Yorkshire Coastliner service, which accesses the Yorkshire Coast. Tadcaster has two main football teams, Tadcaster Albion and Tadcaster Magnets, Tadcaster Rugby Football Club, Tadcaster Harriers running club and Cyclesense Cycling Club.

[Background
I have been a professional photographer for just over 2 years. Specialising in landscapes for greetings cards and golf course photography.
Alison a former colleague and friend, suggested I bring my camera when we met for a coffee at Redworth Hall. We 'caught up' and I left my camera on the table, allowing the kids to get used to it and me. Afterwards we explored the grounds and took the photos.
Alison got the photos enlarged and framed and put them up in her hall. Her sister Rachel liked them so much that she asked me to come and capture memories of her family as well - which we did in the same way at the Botanic Gardens in Durham].
My clients only pay a fee for each image they want, nothing else. So with very little risk you should be guaranteed some photos that you will treasure for years to come.
Think about where you would like to have the photos taken and give me a call to find out more and make the arrangements.

An incredible man
Most touching stories: Armless man has overcome his disability to take care of his ageing mother on his own. Since then Chen Xinyin, - 48, from Chongqing, south west China - has learnt to cook, farm and now even looks after his bed-ridden mother, reported People's Daily Online.
The disabled man's amazing strength of character has been captured in a series of moving photos that's recently emerged.
Since 2014, the man has had to take care of her full-time while running his smallholding.
Chen Xinyin's 91-year-old mother has been getting weaker and weaker.
About a month ago, she became paralysed and can no longer move her arms.
Without the use of his hands, he has to do everything using other parts of his body, including spoon-feeding his mother using his teeth to hold on to the instrument.
But Chen Xinyin has never let his disability stop him.
When he was 20, his father died. As his older siblings had already left home, his mother became the only person who kept the family going.
Chen Xinyin wanted to help as much as he can, starting with learning to cook. But with no hands, he had to learn to use a cleaver with his foot.
He mastered cooking with his feet and has learnt to plant wheat, peel corn cobs and even weave baskets.
Now he is the only one who runs his smallholding of farmland and raises a flock of 24 sheep, two buffalos and four hens.
He has even managed to make a profit year on year.
While many would have reached out for help, Chen Xinyin is adamant about doing as many things himself as possible.
Chen Xinyin is also worried about who will be left to take care of his mother if he leaves.

Places to see in ( Framlingham - UK )
Framlingham is a market town and civil parish in Suffolk, England. Of Anglo-Saxon origin, it is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It had a population of 3,342 at the 2011 Census. Nearby villages include Earl Soham, Kettleburgh, Parham, Saxtead and Sweffling.
The medieval Framlingham Castle is a major feature. The town is also home to the comprehensive secondary school Thomas Mills High School, the independent school Framlingham College, the Church of St Michael the Archangel and Framlingham Town F.C..
The town has the two oldest functioning Post Office pillar boxes in the UK, dating from 1856, located on Double Street and College Road respectively. It is also home to one of the smallest houses in Britain, known as the Check House.
Converted into a two-storey residence of almost 29 square metres, the former bookmakers office is in the Mauldens Mill Estate in the town centre. The ground floor measures 20 feet (6.1 m) by 7 feet 3 inches (2.21 m). In 2006, Country Life magazine voted Framlingham the number one place to live in the country. Framlingham has a conservation area.
The Framlingham Branch line connected Framlingham with the main Ipswich to Lowestoft railway at Wickham Market. The railway station building stands adjacent to the Station Hotel. The line was closed to passenger traffic in the 1950s and to goods in the 1960s. The nearest railway stations today are Wickham Market and Saxmundham, both on the East Suffolk Line. The town is at the junction of the B1116, B1119 and B1120 roads.

Superb Model Railway Layout in OO Gauge and one of the finest in British Railway Modelling
Once again, Pilentum presents one of the finest model railway layouts made in Great Britain. It is the third layout made by the British model railroader Peter Goss. The model railway - built in OO scale or 4 mm or OO gauge - is based on the North Yorkshire market town of Knaresborough. It was completed at the end of 2014 and has been presented at model railway exhibitions since then.
Pete Goss started planning this model railway in 2009, and after extensive survey work and detailed planning model construction finally commenced in February 2010. The scenery is set in the time period around 2005 to 2015. The rolling stock includes the modern day colorfully liveried diesel multiple units (DMU) and several long special trains, for example the “Northern Belle Pullman” or the “Scarborough Spa Express”. The layout has only a simple branch line theme with trains running through the station on a twin track continuous circuit run.
The market town setting contains a very strong historical theme. It is that theme of model railroading that Pete is very familiar with. Pete has always had a fascination with railways and buildings. His main interest is the architecture and styles of old and historic buildings and displaying them at a true scale within the realms of railway modelling. Over the years, Pete has attended model railway exhibitions all over the United Kingdom and also in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
The model railway layout in this video got the name “The Worlds End”, because this name refers to the pub that is located near the railway station of Knaresborough. Apart from the train station, the model railway layout contains a large stone built and ornate viaduct over the River Nidd which is around five feet long and 14 inches high. And, there are other scenes on the layout that will intrigue and entertain folks whilst watching the model trains go by. Substantial numbers of metal cast and converted plastic model figures have been employed on the layout and inside the coaches. Pete’s model railway layout was shown at the great Norwich Model Railway Exhibition in 2017. Pilentum made this video at the International Scale Model Exhibition in Dortmund, Germany, in 2018.
