Mikedem Gallery, Zefat
Within the picturesque alleys of the old quarter of Safed, in an unrivaled atmosphere, lies Mikedem Gallery. The gallery houses a rich and moving collection of classic-modern Israeli art.
The spirituality and history that suffuse the surroundings of Mikedem gallery have brought the finest Israeli artists to choose it as a home for their works.
Modern international Israeli artists such as Ruth Bloch, Leonid Balaklav and Ya'akov Agam display unique sculptures and paintings, both original and highly valuable.
Background on a few of our leading artists-
Leonid Balaklav emigrated from Russia in 1989. From an early age Leonid was marked as a promising gifted artist, and exhibited in galleries and museums. 3 years after coming to Israel Leonid settled in Jerusalem and became religious. The gallery exhibits a variety of original art works in different techniques such as oil on canvas and oil on wood panels. In 2015 Leonid was featured in a solo exhibition in The Tel Aviv Museum of Art called An Obsessive Portraitist.
Ruth Bloch sculpts in bronze. Her art is displayed all over the world in galleries and parks. Ruth focusses on femininity, relations and dialogue between partners. All are characterized with flow, movement, romance and harmony.
Tolla Inbar sculpts in bronze. Tolla was born in 1958 in Germany and moved to Israel in 1971. Each one of Tolla's works has been created with very deep spiritual symbolism. Combined with action, motion and growth, Tolla has become one of the world's leading sculpture artists.
Ilan Baruch was born in 1974 to a religious family from the Geula neighborhood in Jerusalem. In 1988 he began his studies at the School of Painting and Sculpture founded by Rabbi Adin Steinzaltz, where he met painter Lillian Klapisch, who taught there at the time. In 1992 Klapisch exhibited Ilan's paintings at the Nidbach exhibition at the Artists' House in Jerusalem.
Zvi Lachman Born on the eve of Tishah B’Av 22 July 1950. He is a master of bronze. Sculptor, painter, draughtsman, thinker and teacher, Zvi Lachman proves just how eclectic, diverse, and wide ranging the new figurative art can be. He has become an influential teacher and has inspired a generation of students. He has taught at the Bezalel Academy of Art, and now teaches painting & sculpture at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
Marc Tuchulkin Born in 1958 in the former Soviet Union. He received his formal art training at the Dnepropetrovsk Institute of Art and immigrated to Israel in the 1990's. Marc is one of the most interesting artists of our time and an acclaimed master of modern Israeli paintings. The artist's traditional training at prestigious art schools is evident in his painting, plastic art, drawing and compositions yet does not deduct from his spontaneous style and only compliments his view that his art is a game in which the viewer is free to accept (or reject) the rules.

Mirit Ben Nun Born August 8, 1966
These paintings express a personal need to delineate images and fantasies abundant with
color and emotional explosion. Signs, lines and the materials appear of their own volition
and develop as an external language bridging the eye, the hand and the painted surface.
During the making of a painting the power of the shapes emanate from an unconscious
and concealed inner dimension.
Line by line, painting after painting while repeating shapes and patterns, a creation
evolves into new shapes and patterns. ---------------------------------------------------- -----------------Ami Steinitz ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ------------------------- With a determination that reaches obsession, Mirit
Ben-Nun keeps on returning to her art of meticulous decoration. A strong presence of
primitive ornamentation provides the artwork with a tribal facet on one hand and a
feminine touch on the other, encompassing embroidery, bead threading and weaving
among others. Ben- Nuns beautifying urge carries within it an archetypal strata, mythic
at times, which empowers her authentic expression.

Israel's Idols in the name of Art
Ancient Pagan Artifacts in Israel Museum Now ! Etymologist Eliyahu shows and explains some of the Idols in the Jerusalem Museum That is at a high Place disguised in the Name of Art, allowing a port hole of Judgement to come against Israel if they continue to leave them there. It go's the same for every country USA No# 1 has more, and we already know the time of Visitation is over due for the U.S. But in Israel it is giving and allowing NWO to have a open gate way into the control of Israel's future.
Eran Shakine at Zemack Contemporary Art Gallery, Tel Aviv, Israel
In his current exhibition a paradigmatic process occurs, marking the contemporary Israeli
zeitgeist. The series is comprised of two elements which at first glance seem distant from
each other: the grand, abstract works and the housemaids' portraits.
Shakine make large scale paintings on open rooftops which functioned as his studios. On these rooftops the wind blew, the rain dropped and at times Shakine found himself shoveling the snow in order to find the hidden painting. Shakine chose to leave the imprints of natural forces on the
canvas, in order to substantiate the materials that choose to enter the canvas, to wallow
in it, and invade it. Historical layers blend with climatic layers, various feelings mix into one
pictorial solidity. The captions of the paintings expose the natural processes which were
involved in their creation: 185 days of sun 87 days of clouds 48 days of rain or 326 days
of sun 84 days of clouds 34 days of rain
in the housemaids' portraits The face is drawn in a fine, delicate line, the profile is soft and
warm, the posture, the way the hair falls on the back and the ironing hand, all endow the
housemaid with a certain reality, a reality which is sometimes overlooked in everyday life.
It seems that Shakine's refined portraits are created in reference to Modigliani's portraits of
women, their elegance, melancholy and sorrow emanating from every corner. Shakine's
housemaids are rarely presented in full body. Their limbs are boldly severed while the
composition accentuates the functionality of their position in the domestic space.
The figures are sitting on air, with no hold in the pictorial world, like in the material world,
coming and going, as if on an assembly line. Shakine paints them delicately, in a soft blur,
while using a reduced palette. Thus he builds the figures as Icons rather than portraying
a specific portrait.
