In the heart of Siem Reap, discover traditional Khmer handicraft thanks to a free guided tour of our craft workshops. Walking from one workshop to another, you will learn about the ancestral craft techniques used daily by our talented artisans specialized in stone and wood carving, lacquering, ceramic, silver plating, silk painting, gilding and jewelry.
If you are more into silk, enjoy a fascinating visit of our Angkor Silk Farm in Cambodia’s gorgeous countryside – only 20min in tuk-tuk from Siem Reap center. Free guided tours will introduce you to the amazing world of silk farming and weaving. The whole process of silk making will be shown to you: mulberry bushes cultivation, silkworm farming, cocoon unwinding, preparation of the silk threads, ikat technique (tie-dyeing of the threads) and silk weaving.

Our social enterprise looks back at more than 20 years of history. During this time, Artisans Angkor has contributed to the development of a strong handicraft sector in Cambodia, by offering free training and guaranteed employment to thousands of Cambodian rural youth.
Currently, more than 1100 employees are working in Artisans Angkor's 48 rural workshops for stone carving, wood carving, silk weaving, silver plating, ceramics, jewelry and other crafts. Artisans Angkor is the worldwide unique example of traditional handicraft production of that scale, with strong social support program for all employees.

Our visit to Artisans DAngkor was a pleasant surprise. Not on our itinerary, we asked to be taken somewhere to do a bit of shopping. Instead of taking us to a generic souvenir spot, our guide brought us here. Authentic, local, and inexpensive. Highly recommended. We also got a chance to check out the Phare Cambodia Circus which was an experience to remember.

This is a tour through the Angkor Silk Farm in the Puok district in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It shows the process of growing silk worms, cultivating the silk, and then converting it into threads that are weaved by hand into patterns.

Artisans Angkor is a Cambodian social business creating job opportunities for young people in rural areas, while reviving traditional Khmer craftsmanship (stone and wood carving, painting on statues and on silk, lacquering, and silver plating).[1]
The organisation, founded in 1992, is located on Stung Thmey Street, 2 minutes walk from the Old Market in Siem Reap center, Cambodia.
Two sites are open to the public in Siem Reap – one specializing in crafts located on Stung Thmey Street and the other specializing in silk at the Angkor Silk Farm (20mins drive from Siem Reap center, in Puok district).[2] Seven shops selling handmade items made by Artisans Angkor can be found in Siem Reap center, at the Angkor Silk Farm, at the Angkor Café in front of Angkor Wat temple, in Phnom Penh city center and in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh International Airport as well.

Artisans Angkor is a Cambodian social business whose purpose is to create job opportunities for young people living in rural areas, while reviving at the same time traditional Khmer craftsmanship such as stone and wood carving, painting on statues and on silk, lacquering, and silver plating.
A training center has been set up to bring back the glory of ancient Arts and Crafts of the Angkor region. Stone and wood carvings are the skills which are mostly renowned in the Siem Reap region as they recall the nearby pagodas and Angkor temples with their famous bas-relief carvings. Most temples in the region of Angkor that were built in the 11th-12th centuries have such carvings.
