We stumbled across a little coastal town in Portugal called Sines. While we were there for 1 night there just so happend to be a food festival at the same time. It was a great night just hanging out and eating seafood...and by a crazy drunk guy who put on a show for everyone!

Classificados como génios da distorção, Mbongwana Star é uma banda criada em torno de Coco Ngambali e Theo Nzonza, dois antigos membros de Staff Benda Bilili, grupo formado por pessoas a viver nas ruas de Kinshasa, extinto em 2013. Em 2015, depois de conheceram o produtor irlandês Liam Farrell, recrutaram na nova geração de músicos da capital do Congo, e nasceu este projeto. Tal como em Staff Benda Bilili, os instrumentos, construídos em parte a partir de reciclagem de ferro-velho, dão à banda o seu som distorcido. O disco de estreia, “From Kinshasa”, contém elementos de eletrónica e pós-punk que permitem sentir a influência rock. Este espetáculo contou com a presença do baixista Cubain Kabeya.
