The ARVON ALES pub (Mid Wales) | Traditional music session
Each month there are two traditional folk music sessions at Arvon Ales, the award-winning micropub in Llandrindod Wells, on the 2nd & 4th Sundays starting at 4pm. We went along on Sunday 28 October and Graham played his cittern. He was joined by others on fiddle, melodeon, harp, guitar and percussion.
Arvon Ales is run by Laura and John. It was the first micropub in Mid Wales to open and in 2016 was awarded CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year and Pub of the Year for Wales.
They have 5 hand pulled guest ales, up to 8 ciders and perry, 16 local gins and 40 Irish whiskeys, so no shortage of drinks to choose from! Hot drinks and non-alcoholic options also available. No TVs, fruit machines or juke boxes, just conversation, warm welcome and good beer.
A fantastic vibe and wonderful hosts - Powys Tryanuary, Sept 2018.

Heart of Wales 22 A Llandrindod 360
As is my wont now and again, time to do a 360. Llandrindod Wells seems a nice place if a little slow and relaxed. Had to marvel at the train times. The 1535 had just left and 20:41 for the next one. I get the idea that passengers might be frozen relics when the train turns up in winter 4 hours later.. Anyway enjoy a look at Llandrindod Wells..Our destination finish. (C) RCT 2014
