Kulathupuzha Dharma Sastra Ayyappan Temple
Kulathupuzha is a scenic village located in Kollam district. Situated on a forest range on the Thiruvananthapuram - Shenkottai road, Kulathupuzha is renowned for its Sastha Temple. The Vishu Mahotsavam in April/May is the most important festival of the region. There are frequent buses from Kollam to Kulathupuzha, which makes the destination easily accessible to visitors. The nearest railway station is Punalur.
Situated on the banks of the Kulathupuzha River, this Lord Sastha temple calls you for an escape into its spiritual environs. Here, the principal deity Lord Sastha, resides in the form of Balasastha (in child form) popularly known as ‘Kulathupuzha Balakan'. The temple is one among the Pancha Sastha shrines in Kerala.
The temple is well known for its divine fishes that attract a lot of pilgrim tourists. The temple is situated inside the Kulathupuzha reserve forest range in the east of Kollam district.
The place Kulathuppuzha is renowned for thick forests and tribal settlements.

The main festival celebrated here is Vishu Mahotsavam ( April ). The Tiruvutsavam is celebrated in the month of Malayalam month of Medam from 5th to 14th.

About Achankovil Temple : Achankovil Sastha Temple is a Hindu temple and one of the 108 Sasthalayas, located in Pathanapuram tehsil of Kollam district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is also one among the famed Pancha Sastha temples in Kerala, the other four being Kulathupuzha, Aryankavu, Sabarimala and Kanthamala temples. The temple is near the origin of the famous Achankovil river, named after the locality.

Kulathupuzha is a village in the eastern part of Kollam district of Kerala state, India. This town is situated on the Kollam – Shenkottai National Highway road. Kulathupuzha is 63 km away from Thiruvananthapuram and 58 km away from Kollam. Thenmala eco tourism is just 9 km away. It is one of the most modern dairy farms situated in Kulathupuzha i.e. indo Swiss project.
Kulathupuzha is well known for the Sastha temple. The presiding deity at the Kulathupuzha Temple is known as Bala Sastha who is Lord Hariharaputra. The Vishu Mahotsavam in April is the most important festival of this temple. The temple legend is intertwined with fishes in nearby river.
