I enjoyed skiing at Furano ski resort in Hokkaido. Powder snow in Hokkaido is the best. After skiing, I visited Biei town and the snow landscape was fantastic.

Kamui ski Links is a relatively small, family oriented ski resort near Asahikawa city that relies primarily on the local market for its customer base. Fortunately, along with its wide open and well groomed pistes, Kamui Ski Links offers some great, gladed skiing and unlike most Japanese resorts permits access and offers patrol assistance to almost all of the terrain within the ski area boundary. The upper half of the mountain has some nice open trees, and you can almost always find fresh lines off the back side of the peak. The trees on the lower half of the mountain can get fairly tight and are better suited to advanced skiers and riders. Don't come to Kamui Ski Links looking for the gnar but if you're up for a cruisy pow day and a friendly Japanese feel, it's worth the effort.

Japan Powder Pass trip! Kamui Ski Links - S-LOG 2020 Day 26
I started a new project for the Japan Powder Pass group of three resorts. Kiroro, Niseko Moiwa, and Kamui Ski Links! They all use one season's pass called the JPP. It is a new association which just started two years ago. Kamui is the latest resort to join the group. for about 60,000yen you can buy a pass that works at all three resorts. We borrowed a camper from Do Camper rentals and set out on a quick trip to all three resorts in three days! This is actually the second day of the trip when I joined Satoru and Motoki at Kamui near Asahikawa!
I recommend ORORO brand clothing and gear for those who live, work, and play in cold weather. Battery included and all products have heating sections included! Stay warm!

► You don’t get given the chance to go to Hokkaido for work that often, let alone the opportunity to snowboard, so I took full advantage of the limited free time I had on the hill and made this short edit. The film was shot at Kamui Links Ski Resort (カムイスキーリンクス) near Asahikawa, the resort itself is fairly small but has a few nice, wide runs which you can get a decent amount of speed on. As there wasn’t much in the way of a snowpark I thought it'd be a good chance to just try out some interesting angles with the GoPro while riding. Also, as I was officially working while sneaking off to film, I had to don the staff ski wear at all times, hence the stylish all-blue look.
The film is accompanied with the track ‘After Laughter’ by UK based producer, Josef.

Kamui Ski Links | February 2019
Some clips from snowboarding at Kamui Ski Links, one of the resorts I visited during my second trip to Japan.
Kamui Ski Links is a small-ish resort located 50 minutes away from Asahikawa, my home base for Week 1. The snow was deepest on the first day. I hired a guide to give me tips for riding better and take me to the powder zones around the resort. I'm glad I did this, as I would have not otherwise had the courage to ride more difficult terrain and venture off-piste. $42 USD paid for bus transportation to the resort and lift ticket. The best parts: getting to ride fresh tracks from first to last lift, nearly no lift lines, and beautiful diamond dust!
