Japan: Asahikawa sculptures finished
We had a very slow 6am walk to the train station having a look at all the ice sculptors as they were finishing up their work. Some of them were so beautiful and large and it was so great to watch them all working hard into the night from our hostel window (our hostel was right beside the main street).
Hope you all enjoy the beautiful works of art that is ice.

SUWA Garasu no Sato (Glass Museum), Nagano
Fantastic Places in Cool Japan :
Lake Suwa, a beautiful sightseeing spot in Nagano Prefecture. There is “SUWA Garasu no Sato” (Glass Museum) in the immediate vicinity. It is a glass amusement park with a select shop with about 10,000 glass products and a museum. “SUWA Garasu no Sato” has the world’s largest crystal ball and you can experience glass crafts.
There are many works by famous glass craftsmen in the museum, and you can enjoy making glasswork in the hands-on workshop. The shop has the largest scale in Japan for handling glass products, and is lined with a variety of glass products such as accessories, tableware and lamps. You can enjoy shopping just by looking at it.

A trip to Asahikawa in Hokkaido – Try making pottery in the Kita-no-Arashiyama art district
The Kita-no-Arashiyama area (northern Arashiyama area) in Asahikawa is filled with studios for pottery making/woodworking and galleries, and is known as an art district. Taisetsugama, a traditional pottery in this district where traditional pottery techniques have been passed down for three generations, provides hands-on experiences to the public. Visitors can enjoy the memorable experience of making their own pottery.
