Nezu - Japanese Garden, Tokyo ● 根津美術館庭園 東京
► The Nezu Garden is part of the Nezu Museum site, located in the Aoyama district of Tokyo. It first opened its doors in 1941 by Kaichiro Nezu, head of the Nezu family.
The museum itself, is a strictly no photo place, which is alright by me, as the garden - in my humble opinion - offers a greater experience, with a nice variation in the landscape, several teahouses, not forgetting the almost mandatory small lake and streams. And almost best of all, as it's getting autumn here, most of the japanese maple trees has started to turn red. Easiest access to the Nezu Museum & Garden is by Chiyoda Line (Tokyo Metro) to Omotesando st. or Yamanote Line (JR) to Harajuku st. - Enjoy!

Samurai
Samurai , usually referred to in Japanese as bushi or buke , were the military nobility of medieval and early-modern Japan. According to translator William Scott Wilson: In Chinese, the character 侍 was originally a verb meaning to wait upon or accompany persons in the upper ranks of society, and this is also true of the original term in Japanese, saburau. In both countries the terms were nominalized to mean those who serve in close attendance to the nobility, the pronunciation in Japanese changing to saburai. According to Wilson, an early reference to the word samurai appears in the Kokin Wakashū , the first imperial anthology of poems, completed in the first part of the 10th century.
