Chiangmai Nimman Virtual Walking Guide *So Hip!*
We do a complete walkthrough of Nimman street and its surrounding areas. The new and upcoming hispster area of Chiangmai everyone is talking about. We completely ignored this place on our last visit as we wanted to do all the touristy things around Old Town but we were so pleasantly surprised by the chill local vibe of this street, we decided to do a street walk and even return to it in the following afternoon. The prices of the food was affordable, delicious, and the ambiance of the restaurants were great! It definitely worth a checkout when you're in Chiangmai

Getting Around Old Town Chiang Mai on a Budget
Finding a Guesthouse, Hotel in Old Town Chiang Mai & Shopping for Souvenirs at Chiangmai Night Bazaar Street Market.
First we try to find a cheap taxi into Old Town, Old City Chiang Mai. We eventually find a cheap Tuk Tuk into the city. The city is surrounded by a moat which has one way streets running long it. Once we are in Old Town Chiangmai our guesthouse hunting begins at Na Inn, a decently Trip Advisor rated Guesthouse. We check out a neighboring hotel, Thapae Loft Hotel, but Na Inn’s low price of $20 dollar per night has us convinced. We unpack and rent a cheap scooter at a local motorcycle shop. We discuss how best to rent a scooter in Asia, and head out on our scooter to Sakorn Residence & Hotel where our friends already booked their stay. It’s located outside Old Town but conveniently located close to the Night Bazaar Night Market east of the city.
We than head back into town for dinner at Cooking Love Restaurant. A highly rated restaurant that specializes in Northern Thai Style Vegetarian Dishes. We are surprised at the wide variety of fresh dishes. Mango curry, Chinese broccoli tofu noodles, seafood noodle soup, Pad Thai, and mango salad were served. We highly recommend this restaurant for it’s fresh ingredients and low price. We than try stinky Durian for desert.
We make a stop at War (Temple) Phan Tao at night to take in some of the sights of Chiangmai than head over to the Night Bazaar Night Market outside Chiang Mai for some massage and shopping. We start at Halal Street Hilal Town and try out Night Bazaar Place Massage Parlor but not before we walk by a Thai Kickboxing Gym. The masseurs were great! Our friends opted to wait for masseuses. We also go over how to properly put on Thai Massage clothes.
Than the shopping begins. We start at Hilal Street and make our way down the street vendors who are selling mass produced tourist souvenirs such as elephant pants, keychains, Thai Boxing headbands, t-shirts, soap flower carvings, masks, arts and crafts. We pass by the Kalare Night Bazaar which has many street food vendors and even a Traditional Thai Cultural Dance Show for free. We eventually end up at the main intersection of the Street Market and Low Kroh Road.
We head back to Hilal town but not before we drop by the Night Bazaar building which sells original hand painted drawings. We see the paintings ,run into a fish treatment shop, and come across beautiful Chiangmai lanterns.
We wrap up the day by making a quick stop at Big C and discuss the major grocery stores in Chiang Mai. At our hotel we briefly go over how we pack for trips in Asia and provide some tips for packing only essential items for traveling in Southeast Asia.
Tune in next week: to join us as we motorcycle and climb up Wat Doi Suthep Temple, visit Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh, and Chiang Man Temple in Chiang Mai's Old City. We than eat at the Night Bazaar Market Area and go shopping for Souvenirs at Anusarn Market.

A Tour of CHIANG MAI, THAILAND: Budget Traveler's Paradise
Explore Supalai Monte Chiang Mai with Young Asia! Episode1
Young Asia is keen to present the Supalai Monte, This is a very popular location with great facilities.
Asia tries to explain the room and the building in a fun and light-hearted way.
We hope you enjoy her tour.
For any prospective new building in Chiang Mai, its precise whereabouts and height are, under normal circumstances, subject to rigorous town planning regulations. So when acclaimed Thai property developer Supalai lobbied the city municipality for permission to construct a Bangkok scale condominium right next to –and directly overlooking- the Chiang Mai District Court, most of us naturally assumed the local authority’s verdict would be anything but favourable. Indeed the developer itself, the fourth largest real estate concern in the country and recipient of numerous awards, was similarly as unconvinced but recognising the potential for future economic growth in the area, preemptively acquired a second plot of land nearby to which to relocate their high-end high-rise project. Yet to the utter disbelief of nearly everyone, their application to debut Supalai Monte @ Viang Chiang Mai condo on the original site was approved! Promising an unprecedented living experience, Supalai Monte @ Viang Chiang Mai conceptualises an agreeable synergy of enduring Lanna [Northern Thai] cultural design characteristics with 21st-century architectural style enhanced by modern-day sophistication and energy-saving technologies.

Chiang Mai: A Guide to Traveling in Thailand
View our city guide video to see what it’s like to travel to Thailand. The city of Chiang Mai has it all, from peaceful temples to enthralling bazaars.
As the largest city in Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai packs in a lot. There’s no shortage of adventure in this city surrounded by mountains and dotted with temples. While there is certainly a lot to see and sample, Chiang Mai is considered a slightly sleepier, quieter town than its southern neighbor, Bangkok.
Chiang Mai takes great pride in retaining its traditions. The city’s spirituality remains a significant element of the Thai culture, and the town’s countless temples help keep its religious values alive. During your adventure in this part of Thailand, make a stop at the Wat Phra That on top of Doi Suthep. Built in 1383, the sacred temple was inspired by a local legend about a white elephant carrying a relic. While visiting the shrines, take a minute to soak up the sweeping views of Chiang Mai from the top of the Doi. Don’t stop at just one temple, though; there are hundreds of others located in and around Chiang Mai.
Exploring the markets is another way to get a taste of the Thai culture, and you’ll find some great eats at North Gate, South Gate, and Marorot Market, among countless others. The night markets, Chiang Mai Night Bazaar in particular, are exceptional places to sample the local fare and mingle with the locals. Slurp up some noodles and nosh on some stir-fried dishes, or brave something you’ve never tried before—crickets and mealworms, anyone? Along with authentic grub, you’ll find touristy souvenirs, home goods, clothing, and various other goods at this market, too.
Looking to discover more things to do in Chiang Mai? Consider visiting the Thai Elephant Conservation Center. This sanctuary includes a hospital that helps rehabilitate elephants that have been abused or injured. Take a tour of the facility to see elephants taking baths, painting with their trunks, and giving rides. A trip to this organization will provide insight into conservation efforts and scientific studies of these gentle giants.
When the travel bug starts to bite, consider a trip to Thailand. Our travel guide video gives a sneak peek into the captivating Chiang Mia tours available, from temples to markets. Check out our clip and start packing for a romp in Southeast Asia.

Chiangmai Budget Transportation Guide *Scooter*
You're planning a trip to Chiangmai and you want to know how to get into the city and around on a budget. This is the vlog for you. We actually went on Chinese New Years so the prices were relatively high compared to other seasons but in hindsight we did okay with the prices.
This time we wanted to experience a more local side of Chiangmai so we rented an AirBNB outside the old town and took a motorcycle up there. On our first night we checked out China town being it was Chinese New Years and that's about the most touristy thing we will do this whole trip.
Stay tuned for our next vlog which will go over our relaxing day in Chiangmai, our 3rd vlog where we will show you all the sights you have to see, and our final vlogs that will go over the nightlife and the local scene.
If you want a more touristy old town area overview and temples you can also checkout our vlogs from 2 years ago when I first started vlogging but be sure to checkout our channel if this is your first time for more vlogs about living and traveling in Asia as we are based out of Bangkok and plenty of content on all the different countries out here from a local's perspective :)
If this is your first time, please consider subscribing and setting the bell alerts as we release vlogs every Saturday and long form guides about living and traveling in Asia every Wednesday

BANGKOK TO CHIANG MAI in One Week with STA Travel & Contiki! | Thailand Vlog
I went on the Thai Northern Highlights tour with STA Travel and Contiki which over 6 days took a group of 34 of us from the big city of Bangkok into the Jungle of Kanchanaburi and River Kwai.
Then we headed to the the UNESCO Heritage Site of Ayutthaya before getting on an overnight train from Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai.
One in Chiang Mai we we had 2 days exploring the city and temples, going to a cooking class, zip lining, muay thai fighting and to a lady boy cabaret show in Chiang Mai!
We did so much in a short about of time but this tour was so amazing! The standard of accommodation was fantastic- fancy hotels plus an a floating jungle hotel and a really comfy overnight train in Thailand.
Our tour manager Eb was brilliant as were the other guides!
I really recommend you travelling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai because it's such a great part of Thailand and shows a side very different from the southern islands and beaches, and I really recommend the Thai Northern Highlights Tour with STA Travel & Contiki!

TImyT 019 – Upsides & Downsides of Chiang Mai - JC’s Northern Tour pt 10 Final ????
This is part 10 and the final episode of a multipart series which took us around Northern Thailand. In this episode we return to Chiang Mai after a stop for some delicious, cheap Thai food. I talk about why I don’t live in Chiang Mai. But I also give you a glimpse into the spectacular Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2017. Come join us!
RetireCheap.Asia membership site - all the REAL life details you need to live in Thailand plus connect with other like-minded people at:
Every year when winter rolls around I remember the time I lived in Northern Thailand. I always enjoyed the cool air that winters brought in the northern region of Thailand. It's a great time to get out and enjoy the national parks and mountains. If you're in to camping this is a great time of year to do it. We can sleep in the RIPper Mobile but we also enjoy being able to spread out and relax in a tent.
So we’re off on a winter adventure seeking out cooler weather before the hot dry burning season kicks in about mid-February. Our tentative itinerary includes Loei, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai and a few stops in between at Phu Thap Berk, Phu Ruea National Park, Khun Chae National Park and some other cool places.
Come along with us and see what northern Thailand is like in the winter time and check out some of the national parks will be stopping at as well.
So grab a coat, a tent and maybe some hiking boots and come along with us!

Why I Quit My Job in my 30s to Move to Thailand
I quit my career at the bank after 13 years to travel in Asia. It's been the best decision of my life. Now I live here semi retired in my 30s. It's been 4 years since I moved to Bangkok Thailand. Now I guess I can consider myself a resident of Bangkok Thailand and certainly Asia as I have no plans to go back to the life I left.
I made a video about Why I Live in Bangkok Thailand
as my friends have always wondered why I chose to live here in particular but now my most frequently asked question is why I decided to leave my established life in America in the first place.
Obviously I can't explain in full detail all my reasons and thoughts in a single short video, but I hope this video serves as a short intro to my channel about Living and Traveling in Asia. There you will find short vlogs and in depth discussions and neighborhood guides to my city, Bangkok Thailand, and my backyard, Asia. Lets travel Asia and the World!

Bangkok vs. Chiang MaI
I've now been living in Chiang Mai for 9 months. I love life here. It's very laid back and people are very friendly. Chiang Mai has really done me well.
This past weekend, I took a trip to Bangkok. The first time I went to Bangkok I absolutely HATED it! Traffic, smog, heat and did I say traffic? It just wasn't for me. But after living in Chiang Mai for the past 9 months I forgot how exciting big city life can be.
Bangkok vs. Chiang Mai
I will share with you the pros and the cons.
Bangkok-It is a big city. It reminds me of New York of Southeast Asia. It’s a crazy town filled with all kinds of crazy characters and situation. But that is what makes it Bangkok. You can truly live it up here. Finest dining, entertainment and night life you could ever imagine. You have any and everything at your disposal 24 hours a day! But it comes along with the worst traffic in the world, it's also the hottest city in the world and the people are not as nice. I mean come on...it’s a big city. You have o time to be nice! The cost of living ranges about 2k a month including your rent. With this you can really live quiet a nice life!
Chiang Mai- The rose of the north. This has been my home for the past 9 month. It's an awesome place to live. It's very laid back; great food and the people are amazing. Everyone is so helpful and it truly is a wonderful place. Chiang Mai can also be TOO laid back where you almost lose a since of Urgency. You can really get lost in its 'Whatever' kind of philosophy. The quality of living for the price is unmated. You can live quiet the life for $700 a month...including rent. Some live off less. But for me $700 works for me lifestyle.
I hope this gives you help when trying to figure out which city is best for you Bangkok or Chiang Mai?

Crazy 7-Eleven munchies! Chiang Mai Thailand!
Been meaning to showcase the inside of a 7-11 for a while, as there are millions of them in Thailand, infamous amongst tourists for the the toasty ham and cheese sandwiches and other drunchies...
..... for what it's worth tho I think we all admittedly spend way too much money here, especially me... i'm always trying to buy my water / basics / snacks & drinks from the small local family shops instead of 7 eleven when possible, and I always recommend new people to do the same... (i'm honestly trying to avoid going inside 711's now for my health's sake ????)
... so thanks to Mitchell Millennial for being the excuse to do this video! Oh and it happened to be 420!

Local Chiangmai Hangouts *Away from Tourists*
The Lazy Chiangmai Bug got us today and our plans to adventure completely gets derailed when we find a really chill local hangout Huay Tung Tao Lake where we have a delicious budget friendly meal right on the lake next to locals. We try to make it to our favorite temple in Old town but unfortunately we are too late as we spent too much time at Huay Tueng Thao Lake and just visit Wat Phantao instead. We wrap up the night in Nimman but you will have to checkout our in depth 1 plus hour walking guide to Nimman as we shoot a separate vlog for that
