Yorkshire Wildlife Trust & The National Trust talk BREXIT and declining U.K. Wildlife
Sky News 28/12/16 28th December 2016
The National Trust's 2016 State of Nature report continues to reveal disturbing trends in the decline of over 50% of U.K. Species over the last 50 years
Peter Batchelor from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, appearing at Askham Bog Nature Reserve York, also highlights the uncertainty surrounding the future of U.K. Government Subsidies for protecting the Environment post BREXIT.
Environmental Organisations like the Wildlife Trusts, RSPB and The National Trust are asking Government to take the Brexit opportunity to further support wildlife friendly farming practices and flood alleviation schemes rather than just paying farmers subsidies for owning land.
