Me & my Wife - 3 Days Hammockcamping at Hallandsleden, Sweden
Me & my wife doing a hammockcamping for three days at Hallandsleden in Sweden. We went from Hjälmared to Stora Hornsjön (journey section 15, 16 and over half 17 on the map).
The first night we found this incredible place to set up our hammocks with a gorgeous view over lake Stensjö. Here I think we had our best and most delicious meal on the trip, goulash soup with smoked sausage, red peppar, mushrooms, garlic, crossed tomatoes and and a lot of spices, most importantly- cumin and pepper, there can't be too much of both of these spices.
The weather was sunny and warm so we didn´t need any tarp to protect us neither from wind nor rain. So we could just sleep under the open and endless sky just using our hammocks from DDHammock. We woke up to a stunning sunrise accompanied by the gentle song of the birds.
We passed a lot of beautiful and peaceful lakes and watercourses (streams?) Walked through pine and beech forests, near mosses, in open countryside with corn fields that opened up inviting beautiful landscapes to us. We saw small frogs, water lilies, thistles, fireweed, wood sorrel and other neat summer flowers and insects. We also enjoyed the color and taste of raspberries, strawberries and blueberries along the way.
When we ran out of water this hot summer hike we could refill our water bottles at a water pump in the village of Fjärås. I think water hasn't tasted so good before.
Later on we passed by an old mill quite close to the hamlet of Äskhult which is mentioned back in the 1600s, for more info please visit -
A cup of coffee and a swim in the lake Stora Hornsjön ended a wonderful hike this time – we will do it soon again, that’s for sure.

För att mitt kära vandringsgäng på ett lätt och smidigt sätt skall kunna se turerna dom varit med på lägger jag upp filmerna här. Det här var en fin vandring och badtur. Länk till info om min vandringsblogg:

Dayhike Near Old Hamlet of Äskhult
Me, the family and friends of the family are out hiking together. We followed the red path a distance of 6 kilometers near the old hamlet of Äskhult, near Hallandsleden, a trail in south of Sweden that is surrounded by a nature reserve. Nice but a bit cloudy weather in the beginning of November.
In Äskhult, you’ll step right into a genuine hamlet from the 1800s, with roots in the 1600s and 1700s. An immensely beautiful cattle path leads to the hamlet.
When you hear the children howl we have reached the viewpoint from the “Ulvaklipporna” – ”the rocks of the wolfes”. The name originates from the time when wolves were common here. As usually the kids find some sticks that soon become swords when they enter the forest that become a huge playground.
We walk on and stop at the caves by the foot of “Stora Björnås” for hot chocolate, mini marshmallows and snacks. I had to explore this big rocks with all the cracks and holes by myself. We had a nice walk that the kids and the parents really enjoyed.
