Japan’s Kumamoto Castle, Aso Shrine destroyed by quake
So far, 41 people have been killed after two devastating earthquakes rocked southern Japan on Thursday and Saturday. The quakes have taken their toll on some of Japan's historical landmarks. The 17th-Century Kumamoto Castle has been left badly damaged, while the towering wooden entrance gate and hall of the Aso Shrine in Kyushu has completely collapsed.

Restoration work of centuries-old Aso Shrine in Japan begins - ANI News
Kumamoto / Chennai, Oct 5 (ANI): Aso Shrine, a historical shrine in Kumamoto prefecture built 2300 years ago suffered heavy damage in the Kumamoto earthquake of April 2016. Shimizu Corporation begins the restoration work of the Romon Gate (Tower Gate) of Aso Shrine. Founded more than 200 years ago Shimizu Corporation has an experience of building traditional architectures. To restore Important Cultural Properties is no easy task. Among the Tower gate-covered roofs (elementary roof), Shimizu has been working on dismantling the materials that supported the roof by skilled carpenters. Dismantling the collapsed Tower Gate is important. There are many things to be aware of when repairing important cultural properties. The missing or lost parts, and burnt parts that cannot be recovered and many measures must be taken to prevent theft and fire of other parts. It is one of the manufacturing skills training programs promoted by the Japanese and Indian governments. This program proposes to develop a Japanese level of manufacturing talent of 30,000 persons within ten years. After enrollment at Yamaha Motor Chennai plant, combined with practical training, the trainees also learn Japanese-style manufacturing in the classroom. The Chennai plant of India Yamaha Motor has reached a milestone of producing a million units of two-wheelers.

Aso shrine collapses following quake
(17 Apr 2016) A historic shrine in the Japanese city of Aso was seriously damaged by Saturday's earthquake - the second to hit the country in three days.
Nine people died in the first quake on Thursday night and police said that at least 32 people had died from Saturday morning's earthquake.
A number of buildings with curved and tiled roofs were flattened at the shrine, while a towering gate, known as the cherry blossom gate, collapsed.
Meanwhile, search efforts resumed Sunday morning for about half-a-dozen missing people in debris-strewn communities in the mountainous area near Mount Aso, the largest active volcano in Japan.

Step 5: นั่งรถบัสไปลงที่ป้ายสุดท้าย Mt.Aso ยอดบนสุด ที่จะได้เห็นภูเขาไฟได้
Step 6: เดินกลับมาที่ Station ที่ 2 ชื่อว่า Kusanseri Volcano Museum ใช้เวลาประมาณ 15-20 นาที(สำหรับเดินลงมาจาก Mt.Aso)
Step 7: เดินลานก่อน แล้วไปเยี่ยมชม Museum ตั๋วราคา 860 Yen
Step 8: ขึ้นรถกลับตอน 15.50 PM. มาถึงประมาณ 4 โมงกว่าที่สถานี ASO
Step 9: ขึ้นรถไฟ JR Hohi line for Bungotaketa ต้องเปลี่ยนขบวนที่ Bugotaketa station
Step 10: ลงมาดูเวลาที่ป้าย หาชื่อ JR Hohi line for Oita ดูเวลา ผมขึ้นตอน 17.44 ครับ อย่าลืมดู Track ส่วนใหญ่จะอยู่ Track 1 ครับ
