Hachimantai Aspite Line 2019
On April 17th (not 16th, as I say in the video) we drove up to the top of the Hachimantai Aspite Line in Iwate and then hiked around the plateau area to the summit of Hachimantai.
It was a beautiful day! (This is one of my first attempts at making a video like this, so forgive the poor editing. I will hopefully improve.)

Mt Hachimantai straddles Iwate and Akita Prefectures, there are 23 ways up from Hachimantai City. I went up the Jukai Lide and down the Aspite line.

I filmed this in May.. at half its winter height! A Japanese snow wall to be proud of..funny how it doesn't melt quicker at 24 degrees. Good 'ol Hachimantai.
April 18, 2019 - Hachimantai summit area hike to Mokkodake （畚岳）
This was the second day in a row that I went up to the summit area of Hachimantai, Iwate via the Hachimantai Aspite Line. No one with me for goofy shenanigans, so sorry if this is incredibly dry. Also sorry about poor sound quality with the wind. I'll figure it out eventually I hope.

岩手県と秋田県にまたがる八幡平
５月下旬から６月上旬に、雪解けの鏡沼に現れる龍の目の模様、通称「ドラゴンアイ」
雪が一様に溶けるのではなく、気温の変化や雪解け水の流れ込みにより日々変化するが、
その仕組みは解明されていない。
From end of May to June, Dragon eye is formed by melting snow and water.
It is placed in Hachimantai Mountain. This mountain is famous as aspite volcano.
