Speed Painting - Masp Museum
The São Paulo Museum of Art is an art museum located on Paulista Avenue in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
It is well known for its headquarters, a 1968 concrete and glass structure designed by Lina Bo Bardi, whose main body is supported by two lateral beams over a 74 metres (243 ft) freestanding space, considered a landmark of the city and a main symbol of modern Brazilian architecture.
The museum is a private non-profit institution founded in 1947 by Assis Chateaubriand and Pietro Maria Bardi. MASP distinguished itself for many important initiatives concerning museology and art education in Brazil, as well as for its pioneering role as a cultural center. It was also the first Brazilian museum interested in Post-World War II art.
The museum is internationally recognized for its collection of European art, considered the finest in Latin America and all Southern Hemisphere.
It also houses an emphatic assemblage of Brazilian art, prints and drawings, as well as smaller collections of African and Asian art, antiquities, decorative arts, and others, amounting to more than 8,000 pieces. MASP has one of the largest art libraries in the country. The entire collection has been named by Brazil's Institute of History and Art to the Brazilian National Heritage list.

Congonhas - cidades históricas de Minas
fotos do passeio em cidades históricas de Minas Gerais: Tiradentes, Ouro Preto, Congonhas e São João Del Rey - com passeio de trem turístico.
======

Minas Gerais was formed mainly by colonists who searched for veins of gold (discovered 1693) and gems, and later diamonds which come from the naturally occurring itacolumite rock that can be found in great numbers in the region. These helped to boost occupation of the inner lands and led to the foundation of several new villages. In 1697, the Portuguese used enslaved African labor to start building the Estrada Real, the royal road, that would connect the ports of cities of Rio de Janeiro and Paraty to the mineral-rich regions of Ouro Preto, Serro, and, at the northernmost point, Diamantina.[2] The first capital and seat of the local see was the city of Mariana; it was later moved to Vila Rica. In the late 18th century, Vila Rica was the largest city in Brazil and one of the most populous in America. As the gold mines were exhausted over the 19th century, the city lost its importance; it was later renamed Ouro Preto and remained the state capital until the construction of the all-new, planned city of Belo Horizonte at the turn of the 20th century. The gold cycle left its mark in cities such as Mariana, Ouro Preto, Diamantina, Sabará, Tiradentes and São João del Rei. The relative isolation from European influence, added to the huge influx of gold and other valuable minerals, helped the local people to develop their own style of art, which became known as Barroco Mineiro. Prime examples of this period are the richly decorated churches at the colonial cities, some of them preserved today as museums. The most important artist of this period was Antônio Lisboa, who became known as Aleijadinho. His statues and paintings are now highly valued by experts as one of the most refined artistic expressions outside Europe at that time. In addition to art and architecture, there was an explosion of musical activity in Minas Gerais in the 18th century.
Sao Paulo Travel Guide - The Charm of Brazil
Sao Paulo Travel Guide - The Charm of Brazil
São Paulo is the largest city in Brazil, with a city population of about 12 million and almost 22 million in its metropolitan region. It is the capital of the Southeastern state of São Paulo, and also a beehive of activity that offers a jovial nightlife and an intense cultural experience. São Paulo is one of the richest cities in the southern hemisphere, though inequality between the classes typically observed in Brazil is blatant. Historically attractive to immigrants as well as (somewhat later) Brazilians from other states, it's one of the most diverse cities in the world.
Just south of the city lies the Parque Estadual Serra do Mar (part of the Atlantic Forest South-East Reserves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site), a mountain range covered by exhuberant rainforest that faces the coast and provides various ecotourism options. Following São Paulo's extraordinary growth during the 20th century, most of the old city buildings have given way to contemporary architecture. This means that most historical buildings are concentrated downtown, where 17th-century churches stand in the shadows of skyscrapers. The best of São Paulo's gastronomy, nightlife, and museums are concentrated in the historic downtown and neighboring areas to the west. Consequently, this is where most visitors to the city tend to stay. Those who are adventurous enough to venture beyond these areas may discover a completely different São Paulo, including areas of preserved natural beauty, affluent suburban neighborhoods, as well as more dangerous and impoverished districts.
Downtown
The birthplace of the city, with many historical areas, cultural centers, and a universe of diverse people rushing to work or to school.
West
Home to the government of the state of São Paulo, it is probably the most vibrant area of the city for business, science, gastronomy, nightlife and culture.
South Central
The wealthiest region of the city contains Parque do Ibirapuera, one of the most important recreational and cultural areas of São Paulo, and inumerous shopping malls.
Southeast
Home to hundreds of thousands of immigrants who settled in the city, that is where Museu do Ipiranga, the São Paulo Zoo and other attractions are located.
Northeast
The Northeast is São Paulo's event arena, where the annual Carnival and and many other large scale events take place. Part of the magnificent Parque da Cantareira is also here.
Far South
The largest region of São Paulo is still have some parts covered by forest, farms and water, and can offer many unique experiences to a visitor.
Far East
São Paulo's City of Workers contains two of the most beautiful parks of the city, and was the host of the FIFA 2014 World Cup in the city.
Northwest
The Northwest is a more suburban area which is home to Parque Estadual do Jaraguá, where the highest point of the city is located.
The Bilhete Único is a transport smartcard that is used for paying fares on buses, subways, and trains. In essence, a single billing of the card grants a person up to four trips in São Paulo's public transportation system with free transfers between the subway system and buses within 3 hours.

Now it's time to explore the best Sao Paulo Museum of Art and South America. Third floor permanent exhibition, authenticity of the Impressionist masters through to modern zeitgeist from baroque to hold the attention they attract. Works that are immediately seen eseona art textbooks. How did this work have come up here? Throughout the Second World War, European art have lost the place to go. Sao Paulo was relatively bikkyeona the war became a new home to a masterpiece. Currently the museum is the most important artistic assets in Latin America, also he told a friend, the first to come here because there's been a friend embarrassed. I live in Manzanillo and even though it is not done before just to the museum in the city. It's great art tube. Sao Paulo Museum of Art is a landmark of the city. It is also great pride in treating Paulista nodule One of the interesting things is that there is no way to specify a name for the works put on display here. Information about the work, mention of the artist's itdapnida me on the other side of that glass panel. Therefore, when visitors come to see the work eopjyo not know the works of some artists. So, because like the Van Gogh works like 'not the same way as, hers recognize the work itself and to feel the value of the work. And when I saw the back of the panel's work is finally able to know who the artist. This idea is the aesthetic presence, aesthetic education, and innovation and progressive thinking in the fine arts education.

(1887--1986) is considered the first woman in the American Modern Art movement and is best known for her striking paintings of flowers, bones, and landscapes. New York photographer and gallery owner Alfred Stieglitz, whom O'Keeffe later married, brought her to the attention of the American public, and she became part of an influential circle of early modernist painters and critics.
An extended visit to New Mexico in 1929 had a profound effect on O'Keeffe's work, sparking a new period that resulted in her celebrated Southwestern paintings. She settled permanently near Santa Fe in 1949 and died there at the age of 98, leaving a rich
legacy of American images.
Belo Horizonte Travel Guide - Brazil Attractive Experience
Belo Horizonte Travel Guide - Brazil Attractive Experience
Belo Horizonte is Brazil's sixth-largest city, the center of its third-largest urban area and the capital of the state of Minas Gerais. With its orderly grid plan and tree-lined avenues, it's a pleasant metropolis. For travelers, it's a good stopping point on the way to the beautiful colonial towns such as Ouro Preto and Tiradentes.
Belo Horizonte (or simply BH (beh-ah-GAH) to locals) is little over a century old. With a metropolitan population reaching more than 5 million (edging out Salvador), it was built as a planned city to take the place of Ouro Preto as the State's capital. Its layout features square sections drawn out by broad avenues, intersected diagonally by smaller streets. The city lies in the center of the Minas Gerais state, and is intended to bring together the many parts of this very diverse state.
The Metrô. snakes through the city, from Eldorado northeast to Vilarinho, tangential to the north side of downtown. Lagoinha Station is near the rodoviária (bus station), Gameleira Station is near the ExpoMinas Convention Center and Minas Shopping Station is near the Mall of the same name and Ouro Minas Palace Hotel. Belo Horizonte relies on a big and reliable taxi fleet - one of the best in Latin America. The service is also relatively inexpensive - a trip accross downtown costs around R$15 - ranking number 10 among the major Brazilian capitals The official color is white.
The city is built on several hills and is completely surrounded by mountains. There are several large parks in the immediate surroundings of Belo Horizonte. The Mangabeiras Park (Parque das Mangabeiras), 6 km (4 mi) southeast of the city centre in the hills of Curral Ridge (Serra do Curral), has a broad view of the city. It has an area of 2.35 km2 (580 acres), of which 0.9 km2 (220 acres) is covered by the native forest. The Jambeiro Woods (Mata do Jambeiro) nature reserve extends over 912 hectares (2,250 acres), with vegetation typical of the Atlantic Forest. More than 100 species of birds inhabit the reserve, as well as 10 species of mammals.
Major high-rise hotels are generally on Av. Afonso Pena or at Savassi neighborhood, while mid-range and budget accommodations are clustered around the train station. Belo Horizonte is internationally known as the capital of neighborhood bars. Every year, the city hosts the Comida di Buteco festival (Pub Foods, in an approximate translation), in which a panel selects 41 bars to be visited, and then elects the one with the best appetizers using the theme ingredient of each year.
Minas Gerais' cuisine is famous for its traditional dishes, like pão de queijo, feijão tropeiro, tutu de feijão, pork ribs, chicken-and-okra (served with a rich, brown gravy and rice) and other usually heavy, comfort-like food. The city also abounds with pizza places, barbecue houses, fine restaurants of many nationalities and other options.

The Drax Files: World Makers [Episode 33: Luxembourg 1867]
Of course every museum should have something like this says Pit Vinandy, referring to the virtual reality component at Fort Thüngen Museum and the City Museum of Luxembourg.
There, his team has implemented an immersive way to connect to local history, a method to time travel and experience culture and society as it was hundreds of years ago.
With the help of two Oculus Rift VR headsets and 10 computers, visitors can role-play 1867, a crucial year not only for tiny Luxembourg: sandwiched between rivals Germany and France, the little country became known due to the Luxembourg crises, itself a turning point for the whole of Europe at the time and the burning question at the time resonates today: will people of this multi-cultural continent grow closer together and overcome their differences or will the leaders of countries perpetually in conflict continue to let armed response rein supreme?
Pit Vinandy and team have created a digital simulation of the Fort Thüngen and the Pfaffenthal region of Luxembourg City inside the virtual world of Second Life.
Accessible from all over the world, at all hours of the day, it quickly became home to a passionate international role-playing community, making the digital structures come alive and truly vibrant.
Will it replace traditional teaching of history? It certainly won't says Pit. The goal, he explains, is to enable learning history in a playful way, connecting to the inner child that with wide eyed curiosity and free of intellectual restraint simply revels in the joy of exploring the world, no matter if physically real or simply emotionally resonating.
