SCOTLAND Day Trip: Dundee to St Andrews
Kuba and I headed to St Andrews for the day to take advantage of the sunshine. It's rare to get a sunny day here in Scotland during the winter so we wanted to walk around the beach bit and try out Taste Cafe for some lunch. We managed to find seats even though the cafe is quite small and were not disappointed! Their falafel sandwich was excellent. ???? This was only my 2nd time in St Andrews but I wouldn't mind visiting again as it's a short bus ride away. ????

North Coast 500 Day 4
Watch in HD
From the 31st August - 3rd September, myself and my dad toured the NorthCoast500. (For information check out the link below.)
On Day 1 we travelled from Inverness up the east coast, and stayed the night in Melvich. Day 2 was the journey along the north coast, and down the west as far as Lochinver to see some family. Day 3 we continued down the west to Applecross and on the final day we headed back for Inverness, taking the scenic route via Skye.

Great North Museum - Roman artefact scans
Video demonstrating 3D scanning work I carried out for Wessex Archaeology of Roman objects. This work has been carried out in partnership with Newcastle University and involves the capture of objects relating to the Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site, one of Britain's most important archaeological monuments.
In contrast to the previous video of large monument scans ( this video shows 3D scans at the other end of the scale, small objects of prestige and of everyday life in Roman Britain.
These artefacts are also from the collection of the Society of Antiquaries of Newcastle, housed within the Great North Museum. They were scanned over the course of a single day with the help of Faro, who generously provided us with their industry-leading hardware, capable of capturing incredible high detail at a small scale.
As with our monument scans this work will also feed into the NU Digital Heritage project (nu-digitalheritage.com). For more information on the previous monument scans see our series of blog posts linking from wessexarch.co.uk/blogs/news/2015/03/03/laser-scan-GNM-no-5

Luxury Self Catering Review Achiltibuie - Stac Polly and Locholly Lodge
Customers giving great feedback of their first time visit to Locholly Lodge and the area.
I was looking for somewhere to relax. It's my 40th birthday and I was looking for some way to get away from daily life, get away from the hustle and bustle of work and kids and all that sort of thing. So I wanted somewhere remote, but with good facilities all mon cons and this place came up on searches and fitted the bill. It was very easy to book. All the information was sent through on time, payment was easy. Yeah perfect, really.
We're from East Anglia so it's very far. We flew from Luton to Inverness and picked up a hire car and just drove across Inverness. It was about two hour drive and yeah, pretty easy. Just follow sat nav.
If you think we're only in the south of England, but it's like being abroad is different country altogether. We don't have scenery like this in England.
We wanted to come up here and see the hills and the mountains and the stunning scenery and the locks and all those things.
From what we've seen of the local area so far, it's great. The village has got just about everything you need. It's got a shop and post office for essentials and it's got a pub. There's a restaurant to the next village. So pretty much everything that you need for the basics, but plenty of larger towns within the area that you can ride out to if you want more facilities. So, great location, great scenery, great views.
First walk through the door it was amazing. It was a little bit like one of the show houses you see on the TV programs. So it's a good surprise to walk in and see all the furniture and the decor and the way it's laid out is really good, really impressed. I was surprised how much space there is. There the upstairs with the views out the window. It's brilliant. So, waking up in the morning with opening the blinds and seeing outside the amazing views. Brilliant. That's what we've come for. When you got the great scenery it doesn't matter if it's raining or snowing. We're anticipating it was going to be little bit wet and windy and cold, but it's nice to just come for the scenery.
You had a large extended family or a big celebration for example, you've got the two houses right next to each other. I think it's a great place to bring a large group of friends for whether it's a birthday or Christmas, I think it’d be a great place to come.

GCSE PE: Intrinsic Feedback
A short tutorial on the meaning of intrinsic feedback.
Sutherland
Sutherland is a land registration county and lieutenancy area in the Highlands of Scotland. Its county town is Dornoch. It borders Caithness to the east, Ross-shire and Cromartyshire to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west.
In Gaelic the area is referred to according to its traditional areas: Dùthaich MhicAoidh, Asainte, and Cataibh. However, Cataibh is often used to refer to the area as a whole.

Pine Marten feeding in our garden
Tried an experiment tonight, offered the Pine Marten a sweet - Peanut butter and jam sandwich with raisins and a savoury - a bird.
Past experience has been that it would ignore the bird till last so this is what happened.
I think this is more to do with the size as the same happened when I added a large piece of cake, it eat all it could of the smaller pieces before leaving with the larger piece.
Hopefully the amount it took away in its mouth this time means it has kits to feed.
I have more Badger and Pine Marten photographs and videos in on Flickr
The video is was obtained using an iPad against the window
