Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Famous for its cultural and religious diversity, Sarajevo is the place where the East and the West meet. A small yet vibrant balkanic city filled with history, gorgeous architecture and spectacular scenery. Different than all the others, every corner of this city has a story to tell, their streets and homes hosted for centuries adherents of Islam, Orthodoxy, Judaism and Catholicism. Today, the Bosnian capital is a vibrant place, full of charm and tradition and a great place to spend at least a day at. BETAPITCH Mostar 2018
The second international startup conference and competition BETAPITCH Mostar 2018 successfully finished, and if we have to point out a single sentence that marked the whole event, it would be “Startups are the future of this country.”
Out of 90 entries for this startup contest, 14 were selected for the semifinals of BETAPITCH, which took place on Wednesday, 7 November 2018 in SPARK. Ten of them were selected for the finals held at the Amphitheater at the Faculty of Economics, University of Mostar, when they had a chance for a five-minute pitch before the jury (Sanjin Osmanbašić - SPARK, Miloš Lazović - Swiss EP, Jah Ying Chung - The Good Growth Co., Ismail Šehić - CEE FREIRAUM, Nikolina Babičić - Intellyo, Đenan Džumhur - DHL and Enida Cero - BH Telecom) and investors.
#TWIN took the first prize at #BETAPITCHmostar and will join Investors Day & betapitch Global 2018 next week in #Berlin! They also got the direct entrance to the SPARK startup acceleration program! The best BH startup is Bizbook.ba, and they went home with 1000$-worth computer awarded by United States Department of State. The third prize goes to these three startups - Bizbook.ba, Amplius electronics and The Badger, and it’s a trip to IEEE Congress in Sarajevo and direct entrance to the CEE FREIRAUM acceleration process for each of them awarded by CEE FREIRAUM.
Conference visitors were part of free lectures, meetings with potential investors and business partners, debates on the latest topics from the startup world and some serious networking. After the official opening of the conference by SPARK startup program lead Sara Lerota, Ambassador of the German Embassy in BiH, Christianne Hohmann, the representative of the US Embassy in BiH, Holly Zardus, and NSoft's representative, Ana Sović, briefly addressed the audience.
“United States is interesting in future leaders anywhere in the world. Entrepreneurs see the problem and take the risk to try something new. We want to partner up with that kind of people. It will develop the economy in this country. We also see SPARK is a leader in this field.” said Holly Zardus, attache for culture and education of the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina in her speech at BETAPITCH Mostar 2018 conference.

There was also a panel discussion on Local and International Startup Ecosystems with Emilio Corchado (Startup Ole, Spain), Amra Sofić (BH Telecom, BiH), Emir Pašić (CEE FREIRAUM, Germany) and Derek Goodwin (Global Entrepreneur Programme, UK).
For the visitors of the conference, we also organized a prize game under the sponsorship of SYNC company - the task was to publish a creative photo with the #BETAPITCHmostar and #SYNC hashtags. The most creative photo was taken by Rada Galić, who won the JBL Go2 speaker.
This two-day startup gathering ended with stakeholder dinner and party in Gastro Pub Gonzales. Congrats to the winners and thanks to everyone who joined our event!

Every year the village of Puračić in the Municipality of Lukavac celebrates a festival called Vašar for 3 days every 2nd week of October. My husband called it autumn festival. It has a similarity of the fiesta in the Philippines but this one nobody celebrates in the household all of this are street activity. Carnival rides for adult and children are amazing, food is great its a mixed of muslim and non muslim food, lots of items sold in every small shops, candies, chocolates and RTW clothes even second hand goods from clothing shoes and house hold item or shall we say ukay-ukay and ofc a festival will not be complete without balloons to attracts the kids.

11 jembatan bersejarah di Sungai Miljacka Sarajevo

Sungai Miljacka adalah sungai kebanggaan masyarakat Sarajevo. Tidaklah besar dan lebar sungainya namun memiliki banyak nilai historis terutama jembatan jembatannya.
Panjang sungai Miljacka juga hanya 21 km dengan hulu berada di Pale pada pegunungan ravna dekat desa Kadino selo pertemuan beberapa anak sungai kecil membentuk sungai miljacka yang mengalir dari timur ke barat. Sungai ini kemudian bergabung di Ilidza dengan sungai Bosna.
Paling tidak ada 11 jembatan bersejarah sepanjang sungai miljacka sebagai berikut:
1 Bentbasa bridge
Adalah jembatan kayu yang menghubungkan wilayah bentbasa ke makam alikofac dan Isa begova Zawiya dan bendungan atau pintu air dari sungai Miljacka. Didekat bendungan dibuat acara cliff diving tahunan yang diselenggarakan setiap musim panas dimana atlit diving dan lokal berkompetisi. Cliff diving ini satu agenda dengan acara yang sama di jajce dan mostar.
2.Seher - Cehaja bridge
Jembatan ini adalah salah satu dari 13 jembatan yang dibangun pada masa Turki Usmani dengan bentuk klasik umumnya jembatan batu pada masa itu. Jembatan ini berada di mulut Vijecnica atau City hall dan memegang peran penting pada masa itu. Jembatan ini menurut catatan dibangun pada 1585-1586
3.City hall bridge
Jembatan ini relatif baru untuk mengatasi kemacetan dan tingginya mobilitas antara sisi sungai miljacka dari Alikofac dan bistrik ke arah kota tua bascarsija.
4. Emperor's bridge
Emperor's bridge atau jembatan kerajaan adalan jembatan menuju mesjid emperor di seberangnya. Saat ini mesjid adalah tempat berkedudukan Reis Ulama atau pemimpin komunitas muslim Bosnia Herzegovina.
5. Latin bridge
Latin bridge masih merupakan peninggalan Turki Usmani memiliki arti sejarah penting sebagai pemicu perang dunia pertama saat Gustav Princivo membunuh pangeran Austro Hungaria Frans Ferdinand dan istrinya kala melintas di jembatan ini.
6. Cumurija bridge
Cumurija yang artinya charcoal adalah jembatan khusus bagi para ahli tembaga dan besi pada masa itu untuk mengangkut bahan bakar untuk pembuatan besi. Di seberang jembatan terdapat mejdan park dan gedung kementerian pertahanan.
7. Dvernija bridge
Jembatan ini terbuat dari kayu, paling rentan rusak pada beberapa kali banjir besar yang terjadi di sungai Miljacka. Di seberang sungai berdiri fakultas politik universitas Sarajevo dan sekolah menengah dan synagoge besar Ashkenazi.
8. Kobanija bridge
Kobanija mengambil nama orang suci dari Turki dimana makamnya ada di Mesjid Cobanija. Jembatan ini mengarah ke National Theater Bosnia Herzegovina.
9. Festina Lente bridge
Jembatan ini relatif baru di buat tahun 2012 merupakan karya seni dari 3 mahasiswa yakni Adnan Alagic, Amila Hrustic dan Bojana Kanlic. Jembatan yang bentuknya berupa cincin membentang dari Akademi seni ke Radic street yang ada di seberangnya.
10. Skanderija bridge
Jembatan ini terbuat dari besi, arsitek jembatan ini adalah Gustav eiffel yang membuat menara eiffel sehingga jembatan ini sering disebut sebagai jembatan eiffel.
11. Suada dan Olga bridge
Jembatan ini juga bernama Vrbanja dan kemudian diabadikan dengan 2 nama korban sniper pada awal perang Bosnia pada tahun 1992. Kedua wanita itu ditembak dari ketinggian di sisi bangunan yang ada saat melintas jembatan itu.
Jembatan ini adalah batas akhir kota Sarajevo yang ditandai dengan kota baru dengan gedung tinggi dan modern di Sarajevo baru.
Ada jembatan penting bersejarah yang terletak di hulu sungai Miljacka yakni Goat's briddge yang dibuat pada abad 16 sebagai jembatan yang difungsikan untuk jalur logistik pembuatan benteng putih Zuta Tabija.

One year ago, on the 5th of February, the biggest social movement since the 1992-95 war started in Bosnia-Herzegovina. It began in solidarity with the workers of privatized factories in Tuzla who were attacked by the police as they were protesting to get their unpaid wages. On the 7th of February, the
movement had spread to the whole of Bosnia and several government buildings were in flames. Hundreds of people started to organise in plenums in more than 20 towns. Three months after, the movement had lost a lot of its momentum and the most severe floods since decades hit the country.
In October 2014, a few days after the general elections, we interviewed several workers in Tuzla about their current situation.
One year after the revolt, did the living conditions of the workers of Tuzla improve in any way?
