The very first episode of our new show County Connect brings us to the town of Athboy where presenter Aiveen Cully-Dunne talks to some of the local groups, clubs and residents of the town. Rideout day with Megabikes to Athboy (in 1440p)
On the 20.05.2017 (Saturday) We rode from Dublin to Athboy (co.Meath) for a coffee and back. We've split in two groups and my group took the shorter road but the views and ride were incredible anyway. Had a nice coffee in Sargossa cafe in Athboy and went back to Dublin. It was raining at the beginning of our return but it stopped after few kilometers. I took the fastest road home where rest of motorcyclist went some other way.

Athboy 100: An Interview with John McClorey
John McClorey (92) talks to Des White about life in Athboy from the 20s onward covering his family, his time at school.
In an hour long discussion John talks about how he got involved in local bands and his various jobs from working for Meath County Council in construction to helping run Athboy's cinema. He was part of the building of the Vocational School and Athboy Creamery (which he later worked in) and also worked officially (and unofficially) for local landowners the Parrs.

Gillstown, Athboy Co. Meath
Very attractively located in pleasant countryside and yet just 1.5km from Athboy Town, 8km Junction 9 of M3 Motorway. Athboy provides excellent shopping and recreational facilities, Navan and Kells are within 15kms.
The Gillstown Granary was built c. 1850. A two storey Granary Building was adjoined by a single storey range of attractive stone built stables, wagon sheds and barn. After a short period the buildings reverted to agricultural use and remained so until purchased by the present owners who were attracted by the very fine stonework.
They set about a major restoration and effectively created a house of modern standard within the old buildings. Best quality building materials were used, high levels of insulation and all modern services were installed with excellent standards of workmanship. The buildings were all re-roofed in original slate.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped with extensive lawns and specimen trees and shrubs providing all year round colour and interest. There is a small orchard and well cultivated vegetable garden. The entire site is surrounded by mature hedging providing complete privacy.
The Old Granary is a really charming and welcoming house.
