We picked a beautiful day to visit this wonderful Dorset house. It is Privately owned and well worth having luch at reasonable prices for excellent food. Take a look when down near Dorchester.
The Great Hall with its panelled walls, stained glass windows, antique furnishings, and roaring fire, The Kings Ante room, with fine hand blocked wallpaper, and a selection of Victorian busts and paintings, The Great Chamber, with its fine Italian plasterwork ceiling, soft furnishings, dressers, collection of fine crockery, secret passage, fine heraldic glass, hidden passage etc. Then the Kings bedroom, with a Tudor tester bed. Then we move upto the Library, The Closet Library, The Art Gallery, The Red Passage, The Dining Room, The State Bedroom, The Dressing Room, The Copper Bathroom and The YellowBedroom.... thats 12 rooms, and still we have the Dining Room to consider. The Admission Ticket is priced at £12.50 for an adult, with discounts online if you book your visit in advance. The ticket price covers both the Tudor House, and the Stunning Grade 1 listed gardens, with the river walk, dovecote, tollhouse, and all the formal gardens. There are stewards in the house to tell you about the intricate history of the house, its furnishings and antiques
