Athens Airport Metro to Syntagma Square
I thought I'd do a video of the Metro train from Athens airport to Syntagma Square. It's about 45 minutes in to Athens. They fooled me this time by installing new ticket machines. The old ticket machines just printed a time on your little ticket, but the new ones are electronic and a scanner opens the gate for you to proceed. The train is empty when you get on but fills up quickly as the stops approach Syntagma (Constitution) Square. There is also a bus (X95) which goes to the same place from the airport. Both are 10 euros. I hope this helps save someone some money because the taxis are about 40 euros I think.

Athens to Piraeus Port | X96 Bus And Metro Options Explained
Athens to Piraeus Port: I take the metro from Athens to the Piraeus Port and show the area around the port. Buying tickets is discussed and I show where you can buy them. I talk about how to get to the Piraeus Port from Athens center or from Athens Airport. The X96 Bus and Metro Line 1 options for getting to the port are explained. From Piraeus Port you can get to many islands including Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Naxos, Paros, and Aegina, among others.
From Athens Airport to Piraeus Port by bus: Take the X96 Bus from the arrivals at Athens Airport. It costs 6 Euros and takes about one hour to get to the port. Buses operate 24 hours a day and leave every 30 minutes from June to September and every 40 minutes from October to May. This bus stops right in front of the port.
From Athens Airport to Piraeus Port by Metro. Take the Metro Line 3 from Athens Airport and change to Metro Line 1 at Monastiraki Station. Piraeus is the last stop on the Metro Line 1. This option costs 10 Euros from the airport.
From Athens City Center at Syntagma Square: Take the Metro Line 3 one stop to Monastiraki Station and change to the Metro line 1 to Piraeus Station. This currently costs 1.40 Euros.
Here is a complete list of islands you can get to from Piraeus Port and the shipping companies that serve these islands:

Driving habits in Athens - Guidare ad Atene
[Italiano sotto]
Driving in Greece and particularly in Athens, one might have the impression that signs and traffic lights are optional or serve an advisory role and that Greek drivers don’t share the same traffic code with the rest of Europe. Well, after years of driving in this country, I can safely say that this is not just an impression! The rules are the same; what changes is the interpretation!

A wide drivers network is just a tap away, on-demand, 24/7.
Taxibeat creates a new transportation experience in the city by connecting thousands of passengers with available professional drivers nearby. The company was born with the advent of the smartphone; a powerful tool that allows one to access anything, anywhere with the tap of one’s fingers. . Everyday life has changed rapidly and is linked with our always-on, always connected devices. A new economy, the on-demand economy is formed by our always-on devices. We can have anything we need, whenever we need it.
At Taxibeat we started as a mobile application company that helps passengers quickly find the best taxi for their transportation and lets drivers connect to passengers through a fair reward system. But our ambitions won’t stop there. We are learning to use data to move people around faster and with higher quality. With the power of data in our hands, we want to spread our services to whatever is being moved around the city; to become the grid of the city, by moving people, items, and products in the most functional way. What we want is to create a smarter, faster, and more effective transportation platform for all. Keeping that in mind we invest in two main areas: technology and customer support.

NCL Spirit in Athens: Learn About the Metro from Piraeus-Monastiraki Square
It is super easy to take the Metro from Piraeus (Athens Port) to Monastiraki Square. One line with no transfers. I admit that it is a long walk from where the Spirit docked and took an Uber style ride back (called Beat) from city center after the tour.
Most of the upcoming Cruise videos are lengthier than usual because we saw so much in a short period of time. Are you ready for (3) Athens vids after this? I hope so since they cover a teeny-weeny portion of what there is to see in historic Athens.

Athens
Athens (/ˈæθɨnz/; Modern Greek: Αθήνα, Athína, [aˈθina]; Ancient Greek: Ἀθῆναι, Athēnai) is the capital and largest city of Greece. Athens dominates the Attica region and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning around 3,400 years. Classical Athens, as a landlocked location was a powerful city-state that emerged in conjunction with the seagoing development of the port of Piraeus. A centre for the arts, learning and philosophy, home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, it is widely referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, largely due to the impact of its cultural and political achievements during the 5th and 4th centuries BC on the rest of the then known European continent. Today a cosmopolitan metropolis, modern Athens is central to economic, financial, industrial, political and cultural life in Greece. In 2012, Athens was ranked the world's 39th richest city by purchasing power and the 77th most expensive in a UBS study.
The city of Athens has a population of 664,046 (796,442 in 2004) within its administrative limits and a land area of 39 km2 (15 sq mi). The urban area of Athens (Greater Athens and Greater Piraeus) extends beyond the administrative municipal city limits, with a population of 3,074,160 (in 2011), over an area of 412 km2 (159 sq mi). According to Eurostat, the Athens Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) is the 7th most populous LUZ in the European Union (the 5th most populous capital city of the EU), with a population of 4,013,368 (in 2004). Athens is also the southernmost capital on the European mainland.
