Best Block - 100 Block East Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, FL
Recently named the Most Fun Small Town in America, Delray Beach has an authentic historic downtown along one of the longest main streets in Florida—Atlantic Avenue. The 100-block of East Atlantic Avenue is a microcosm of the downtown, bustling from the early morning into the wee hours of the night, on weekdays and weekends alike.
Located at the south end of the Pineapple Grove Arts District, this block has residential apartments located in mixed-use buildings, a gym, seven restaurants featuring the cuisine of five countries, from pizza-by-the-slice to gourmet French fare, served indoors or in beautiful sidewalk cafes. You'll find retail shops for men and women, and a variety of office space. Relax in the shade at Worthing Park, where you can view an original DeBilzan sculpture, or catch a live performance during one of many downtown events.
The two-lane thoroughfare accommodates different modes of transportation including cars, bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, and golf carts. Free on-street parking gives easy access to local businesses, with two public parking garages less than a block away. Or you can skip the car altogether and hop on the City's free shuttle, the Downtown Roundabout, or call the Delray Downtowner for a free ride in one of their electric vehicles. Wide paver brick sidewalks make it easy for pedestrians to walk, skateboard, or push strollers and wheelchairs along the block.
Whether you live locally or are just visiting, you can experience the best of Delray Beach in the span of this single block!

Christopher Saltzburg, your local Real Estate Agent in Delray Beach
Hello everyone. My name is Christopher Saltzburg and I'm a realtor in Delray Beach, Florida. I help clients buy and sell homes, properties, vacation homes, rentals, investment properties throughout Palm Beach County, but I make my home in the charming, idyllic beach town of Delray Beach. I'm excited to tell you some of the things I love about this town and why I live here, and some of the things that I don't like nearly as much. Most of those negative things are symptoms of the popularity of this amazing town.
Before we talk about that, I'm going to give you a little bit of a history on Delray Beach. You'll see behind me the map showing you exactly where Delray is located on the Southeast coast of Florida, between West Palm Beach to the North and Fort Lauderdale to the South. A few years ago the New York Times wrote an article about Delray Beach titled Style Without Attitude. That was a perfect title, but it described a history back in the early '90s where Delray Beach had really lost its polish. The prime downtown street Atlantic Avenue had half the stores and restaurants boarded up. It was a little rough around the edges. But as we got into the mid, late '90s, early 2000s, Delray has become a gem. It's regained its former glory and probably even exceeded its glory that it's ever had in history, and there's a lot of reasons why. I'm going to share some of those reasons with you right now in this video.
The first, of course, is the natural beauty of the Delray Municipal Beach. There's lots of beaches in Florida that are beautiful, but Delray Municipal Beach has some unique attributes that make it a true gem among Florida beaches. First of all, it is broad, wide with perfect sand and the crystal blue waters influenced by the Gulf Stream that comes very close to the coastline of Delray Beach. Additionally, the municipal beach, the stretch of beach along downtown Delray, has no construction right on the beach. So there's none of those big high rises or mega mansions that you see in much of the coastline of Florida, it's just natural dunes. But although it has that serene feel, you are right next to Atlantic Avenue, tons of great restaurants, bars, boutiques, shops, all the energy that downtown Delray has to offer is just steps away from this beautiful, pristine municipal beach.
Our municipal beach has lifeguards, so if you're there with friends, family, children, you know that they'll be saved swimming. Once in a while we get a great swell, you'll see some surfers out there. We get a real nice swell under certain conditions. The rest of the time, our beach is like bath water. It's like a beautiful warm, pristine swimming pool.
The popularity of our amazing beach here in Delray leads to the first thing that I don't like as much about Delray Beach, and that is parking. Parking can be a little difficult in downtown Delray, especially at the beach on a beautiful weekend or holiday. All parking is paid in downtown Delray. I recommend downloading the ParkMobile parking app, makes it a lot easier. It's fairly inexpensive, but you have to definitely pay for it to avoid a ticket. There are some lots. There's some lots near the Sandoway Nature Center, there's a lot by the Marriott Hotel, there's a lot of parallel street parking, but on a busy day it can be almost impossible to find a parking spot.
So with a little bit of planning and logistics ... Remember, you can always rent a beach chair and umbrella so you don't have to lug that with you to the beach. Just about anywhere you're living, staying, or even visiting for the day, you can find parking. But if you want to be right at the beach parking can be a little difficult, so just plan ahead for that.
I will also download ... excuse me, I will also have a link to the Delray Beach Parking Guide in the description below this video. So, I love the beach, and a lot of other people do too, which leads to the first thing I don't like about Delray and that's difficulty parking. Stay tuned for part two of what I love and what I don't love so much about Delray Beach, Florida.

Delray Beach, Florida - Drone Flyover
Delray Municipal Beach is popular for its temperate waters, great sand quality, and great waves. It is located at the far eastern side of Atlantic Avenue where it intersects with A1A. Lounge chairs and umbrellas can be rented every day, and lifeguards man stations half a mile out in each direction. The most popular section of beach is south of Atlantic Avenue on A1A, where the street parking is found. There are also two metered lots with restrooms across from A1A at Sandoway Park and Anchor Park (bring quarters if parking here). On the beach by Anchor Park, north of Casuarina Road, are six volleyball nets and a kiosk that offers Hobie Wave rentals, surfing lessons, and snorkeling excursions to the 1903 SS Inchulva shipwreck half a mile offshore. There are a total of two miles of public beachfront attractions that drive in approximately one million visitors each year. In 2013, the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, Delray Beach was presented with the “Best Restored Beach” award and has been designated as a Blue Wave Beach by the Clean Beached Council for its cleanliness and well-managed environment.

The vibrant seaside community of Delray Beach is located between Boca Raton and Palm Beach, along the Atlantic Ocean in Palm Beach County, Florida. Called the Village by the Sea, Delray Beach is a wonderful spot to enjoy culture, art, history, and the waterfront lifestyle so many people find desirable.
With a deep commitment to preserving the community's past, Delray Beach has become a leader in Florida's historic preservation movement, designating many of the town's neighborhoods as historic districts. Originally a farming community named Linton, the settlement's name was changed to Delray in 1901, with the area between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean incorporating as Delray Beach in 1923. In 1927 Delray and Delray Beach merged into one town named Delray Beach.
Today, Delray Beach is known as one of the cultural hubs of South Florida, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. A downtown renaissance has occurred with boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and galleries lining picturesque Atlantic Avenue and Pineapple Grove. Delray Beach's location is ideal with a two miles stretch of the Gold Coast's most beautiful public beaches, two dozen hotels, nearly 100 restaurants, and close proximity to Boca Raton's private executive airport and both Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale International Airports.
Delray Beach has many types of luxury real estate options including opulent oceanfront estates, charming bungalows in historic neighborhoods, modern waterfront condominiums, and homes on the Intracoastal Waterway with deep water dockage for boats and yachts.
