Awesome Rock Climbing in Acadia National Park, Maine (July 2016)
Rock Climbing/Otter Cliffs/Acadia National Park/Climbing in the USA
Rock climbing in Acadia National Park (Maine, US) is fantastic during summer. Definitely a lot of fun and a great view. Rocks are friendly and variety of routes for any level. We climbed at Otter Cliffs, enjoyed the sun and nature and professional guidance. I would recommend getting help of professional rock climbing guides in this area. I'm not new to the rock climbing, but new to the area. The Otter Cliffs has a variety of routes that need to be set up with climbing ropes, special gear etc. Atlantic Climbing School (67 Main St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609) was where we found our guide.
Meanwhile, I share with you what else we did:
1) Things to do: watch the bold eagles seals while on the ferry ride
2) Make sure the tide is low when you plan climbing on the Otter Cliffs
3) Place to stay: We stayed at the Hadley's Point Campground (Great showers, free parking, a lot of space)
4) Places to eat: We tried Terrace Grill, Cafe This Way, Side Street Cafe, Lompoc Cafe, and Leary's Landing Irish Pub
4) Place to Rent Bikes for the Horses Carriage Way: Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop (141 Cottage St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609)
5) Places to go Biking: Horses Carriage Way
Have Fun!

14 Hour Solo Day Hike | Katahdin and the Appalachian Trail
When you hear about the state of Maine, you might have a lot images come to mind: Rocky shores, overcast skies, horror stories about killer clowns and of course… Lobster.
With the crisp, salty smell of the Atlantic, I finished the last leg of my road trip. All the way from California to Maine, I made it from corner to corner of the United States.
For the last part of my journey, I had to venture even further north in Maine, to some of the lesser known areas of the state. Beyond the scattered lakes and into the dense forests, the appalachian trail twists and winds to this point: Baxter State Park.
I had lucked out by getting a quintessential lean to shelter in the park itself, right along the the trail. For most of us lay people, the park of Baxter is relatively unknown. However, for the mountain lovers out there, they may know the mountain that looms high in the center: Mt Katahdin. Among the Penobscot Natives, this mountain was referred to as “The Greatest Mountain” or in their language, Katahadin. Standing over 5200 feet tall, it may not be the highest point in the US, but compared to everything around, it surely towered over anything else in sight.

Rock Climbing in Maine
The granite that made the Maine Coast famous as a source of building material a century ago now provides the setting for some outstanding rock climbing or rappelling from the sea cliffs. Students learn to use climbing equipment, tie knots, climb and belay each other, while instructors provide overall supervision of the site. Climbing hones and develops balance, coordination, flexibility and grace on the rock. Climbing presents many individual challenges for students, while the team must work together to set systems up, communicate clearly and support each other throughout the climb.

Crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a Cessna
Trying to find a way to Austria, I catch a ride in a Cessna 210 for a two week trip across the North Atlantic. We fly to remote northern Canada to prepare to cross to Greenland and encounter icing, autopilot issues, plumbing problems, magnetic deviation, and find ourselves north of the Wall. Part 2:

The Atlantic Slave Trade: Crash Course World History #24
In which John Green teaches you about one of the least funny subjects in history: slavery. John investigates when and where slavery originated, how it changed over the centuries, and how Europeans and colonists in the Americas arrived at the idea that people could own other people based on skin color.
Slavery has existed as long as humans have had civilization, but the Atlantic Slave Trade was the height, or depth, of dehumanizing, brutal, chattel slavery. American slavery ended less than 150 years ago. In some parts of the world, it is still going on. So how do we reconcile that with modern life? In a desperate attempt at comic relief, Boba Fett makes an appearance.

Cruise
Baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise
Hey baby
Yeah, when I first saw that bikini top on her
She’s poppin’ right out of the South Georgia water
Thought, Oh, good lord, she had them long tanned legs!
Couldn’t help myself so I walked up and said
Baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise
Down a back road blowin’ stop signs through the middle
Every little farm town with you
In this brand new Chevy with a lift kit
Would look a hell of a lot better with you up in it
So baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise
She was sippin’ on Southern and singin’ Marshall Tucker
We were falling in love in the sweet heart of summer
She hopped right up into the cab of my truck and said,
Fire it up, let’s go get this thing stuck.
When that summer sun fell to its knees
I looked at her and she looked at me
And I turned on those KC lights and drove all night
'Cause it felt so right, her and I, man we felt so right
I put it in park and
Grabbed my guitar
And strummed a couple chords
And sang from the heart
Girl you sure got the beat in my chest bumpin’
Hell, I can’t get you out of my head
Baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise
Down a back road blowin’ stop signs through the middle
Every little farm town with you
Baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise
Down a back road blowin’ stop signs through the middle
Every little farm town with you
In this brand new Chevy with a lift kit
Would look a hell of a lot better with you up in it
Come on
Baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise
Come on, girl
Get those windows down and cruise
Aww, yeah.
