TRIP TO ATLAS MOUNTAINS MOROCCO - OURIKA VALLEY & Asni Valley
This video is about a day trip to the Atlas Mountains Morocco from Marrakech. A road trip to base of Atlas Mountains ending at the Ourika Valley. We eat Berber Tagine along the Ourika River and make lots of stops along the way... There are lots of day trips you can take from Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains is a popular ones. On this day trip to Atlas Mountains from Marrakech, Morocco we also stop at Lake Takerkoust, Asni Valley and the Ourika Valley. While in the Ourika Valley we had lunch along the Ourika River, highly recommended.
Lake Takerkoust is a manmade lake built to supply water to Marrakech as well as water for agriculture in the neighbouring valleys. It was meant to look natural and if you didn't know it was manmade, you'd never guess it. It's now a big vacation spot for people in Marrakech offering all sorts of water activities and outdoor activities as well.
Asni Valley was a bit of a drive through, it was beautiful and scenic. There was a small village we drove through but never really stopped so can't say much. The Ourika Valley was cool and the river was line with restaurants serving good Moroccan food. We stopped at one which was clearly where all the tour operators drop their people off ha. It was cool but would have preferred some random one along the way. We had Berber tagine of course and it was delicious.
After lunch we basically made our way back to Marrakech as the day trip to Atlas Mountains was over. We were also spent, tired and very full from lunch.
HIKING THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS :: IMLIL VALLEY, MOROCCO
we decided to do this airbnb experience hike to the Atlas Mountains + Imlil Valley. We hiked up to the waterfall and then hiked to a berber village for a homemade organic lunch. I HIGHLY recommend this day trip with Mohammed + Wassim -- they were incredibly sweet and made the trip even better.

Morocco Travel Guide: Marrakech, Atlas Mountains and Essaouira
On this trip you’ll be heading to Marrakech, the heart of Morocco, where spices linger in the market air, the sun sets on street performers, and the senses are treated to a whirlwind of sights and sounds. Discover life in the sprawling medina or get lost in the alleyways towards the souqs. Marvel at the tilework found in the royal Bahia Palace and Dar Si Said or learn how ancient traditions are woven into the fabric of Marrakech; there’s more than one way to fall in love with this cosmopolitan city.
Morocco is a North African country renowned for diversity, and this is one of the things that make it such a fascinating destination to visit. It’s a place where one will find many cultural influences, and the landscape offers visitors a chance to experience the ocean, Atlas Mountain peaks and the Sahara Desert all in one go. You might be travelling to one country, but in Morocco, there is a whole world to explore.
In Essaouira discover how coastal winds and different tribes can shape a port city. It’s a melting pot with Arab, Berber and European influences. While the sea attracts windsurfers, culture vultures flock to the medina’s alleyways for galleries and a spot of people watching. The vibrancy found in the country’s cities is matched by life in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where visitors can swap people watching and fortified walls for hiking, folk music and stargazing.
Observe nomadic shepherds, hike through limestone river canyons, enjoy impressive views and Berber hospitality and warmth as you make Midelt your basecamp for the Middle Atlas Mountains. As the sun goes down on the soaring peaks, the stars will light up the skies.
If we’ve inspired you to explore this north African country further, head over to TourRadar for all the different ways you can discover a world of flavour, culture and history in Morocco.

ATLAS MOUNTAINS and CAMEL RIDE in MARRAKECH | Morocco Travel Vlog
Here's a glimpse of a day trip from Marrakech to the Atlas mountains - riding on camels, hiking to a waterfall in the Imlil Valley, and eating lunch with an incredible view!
*We got our bags very late at night prior to this day trip. All of the bags that were held in Casablanca were randomly sent on flights towards Marrakech throughout the day. Hamer took a cab to the airport in the evening and stayed until 2am to wait for the last flight of the day. The scene at the airport was chaotic. We were so lucky to have both of our bags arrive that evening, as many people who were waiting did not receive their bags that night. Both of our bags were soaked - clearly left out in the rain for hours (and maybe days), but we were so thankful to get them back. Taking videos was prohibited at the airport, although Hamer will attest that there was at least a hundred people waiting at the airport, hoping for their bags to arrive. We didn't get to close out this case on video because Hamer arrived back at the hostel so late in the evening and we woke up super early in the morning for this day trip, so we hope this explanation serves as closure for the experience we had a few videos prior. HOWEVER, be on the lookout for our video coming up when we attempt to fly with Royal Air Maroc to Cairo! Hint: it gets worse.

Road Trip to KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU from Marrakech, Morocco
We're on a Sahara desert tour Morocco from Marrakech, Morocco and this is day 1. It starts with a road trip from Marrakech to Ouarzazate. We stop at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou in Ouarzazate to tour the kashbah and also enjoy some delicious Moroccan food. After we visit Studio Cinema Atlas also in Ouarzazate before heading to our hotel in the Dades valley for the night.
Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou aka Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is located in Ounila Valley on the southern hills of High Atlas Mountain and a great example of southern Moroccan architecture. This is in the Ouarzazate province. Lots of famous movies have been filmed here such as Gladiator, The Mummy, Indiana Jones, Game of Thrones and more. It's a great example of what like in the 17th century.
Studio Cinema Atlas aka Studio Cinema Ouarzazate - Measured by acreage this is the world's largest film studio and you can tour it. Lots of relics from old movie sets are here and it was first developed in 1983 by Mohamed Belghmi. Some movies and films created here include Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, Game of Thrones, Babel and more.
To get to the Sahara desert from Marrakech we need to cut through the Atlas Mountains, it was an experience and a fun one at that.

Atlas Mountains Vlog - The best way to see the many villages, in my opinion, is finding a day tour. Our guide was listed on Airbnb and it was the best choice of the trip! We learned all about the Berber people from family values, culture and cuisine. Not to mention the fog covered mountain range looked amazing! Now it’s time for the midnight train to TANGIER!

The Atlas Mountains Marrakech!
Full Vlog:
Traveling to Morocco? Check out the atlas mountains, a short Marrakech day trip.
We were exploring Marrakech attractions for about 3 days when we decided to take a day trip to the atlas mountains. it was simple, all we did was ask our hotel (Bab Hotel) for some Marrakech day trip options and they provided us with a great tour! Our driver picked us up from the hotel, put us in his 4 wheel drive jeep and off we went! He took us through the high atlas mountains explaining that we were going to meet the Berber people. The Berber people are the North African ethnic group of inhabitants who live in the high atlas.
We first stopped at an olive mill (olives are huge in Morocco), where we learned how they produced and distributed olives throughout the rest of the country.
Lunch time in the atlas mountains was unforgettable. We spent time with Berber people who made us bread and tea as an appetizer, Moroccan cookies for a snack, and then traditional chicken tagine for the main course. The Berber people even surprised us with homemade apple pie for dessert!
Our last stop in the atlas mountains was at another mill where they sold argan oil products such as cosmetics and all types of food. If you want to get out of the city of Marrakech to see how the Berber people live, I recommend spending a day (or atleast lunch) in the high atlas mountains. The Berber people are known for their friendliness and hospitality, so take advantage of experiencing this high atlas culture.

Ourika Valley - A Day Trip from Marrakech, Morocco
My Morocco Trip 2012/2013
When people talk about Morocco, they inevitably talk about Marrakech the beautiful red city. But if you make it there, you must take a day trip from Marrakech to the Ourika valley.
???????? Climbing mount Toubkal (Morocco): travel documentary
#Toubkal #Morocco #Travel
This time we travel to Morocco. With Engel and Ricardo, we climbed Mount Toubkal. With its 4,167mt, is the highest peak in North Africa. From the top, we experienced amazing views of the Atlas mountains. The documentary tells how the 2-day trek was organized and how difficult is to get to the top. Everyone can do it, but need to be prepared for a trek that is technically easy, but challenging from a physical standpoint. All started in the village of Imlil, at 1,750mt. The first day was easy, it took 6 hours, including long stop for lunch and filming,to reach the base camp at 3,200mt. We got there just in time before it started raining. The day after we woke up at 4am to start acending. It was a strenuous walk uphill, with a cold wind blowing and the sun coming out as we were approaching the top. After having enjoyed the view from the peak, we started descending. We took a de-tour to nearby mount Tibherine (3,880mt) to see the debris of a plane that crashed here in 1969. Apparently it was a cargo plane that was bringing ammunition to the Government of Biafra during the Nigerian civil war. As we descend to the valley, we got a small injury which forced one of us to finish the last few miles on a mule
