Testing the 607!
Taking out our 1914 Stanley Model 607 steam car for a test! This is a car that our volunteers are restoring in-house at Auburn Heights Preserve. Don't worry we didn't forget about the body of the car! We just need to test out the working parts before the restored body is actually put on the car.

You'll see your truly both running the locomotives, conducting the trains, and taking pictures throughout the day. You'll see both locomotives 401 and 402 in operations pulling many passengers. Stanley Steamer Run to Auburn Heights and Woodside Farm Creamery-June 20, 2019
On June 20, 2019, I ventured out once again with Sam Gregg and Robert Wilhelm (Bob) in a 1918 Stanley Model 735 Steam Car to Auburn Heights, in Yorklyn, Delaware, and then a quick pit stop at Woodside Farm Creamery in Hockessin, Delaware.
Our original plan was to attend the Auburn Heights Ice Cream Run, however, due to inclement weather earlier that day, the Ice Cream Run was cancelled. Instead, we fired up the car and went for a quick run through beautiful southeastern Chester County in Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware.
Sam and Bob have also started teaching me how to properly fire up, operate and maintain the Stanley. Throughout this video, you can hear Sam giving me pointers on the Stanley's functions during our drive.

Mini Train Ride at Auburn Heights Preserve
During my sister's wedding, we were all able to enjoy a few quick rides on the mini train housed at the Auburn Heights Preserve. It was a fun experience and would love to go back, so long as a certain someone doesn't derail the train again. *sigh*
Many thanks to Auburn Heights Preserve as well as the Marshall Steam Museum for all of their hard work and service.

Yorklyn Day 2019: 1918 Stanley Model 735 & the Auburn Valley Railroad-June 2, 2019
On Sunday June 2, Yorklyn Day was held in Yorklyn, Delaware, just a few minutes south of the Pennsylvania-Delaware Border south of Kennett Square, PA.
I rode with Matt Appleby (trainboy105), Louie Montanaro, and Sam Gregg (Shenanigans With Sam; Driving) in Robert (Bob) Wilhelm's beautiful 1918 Stanley Model 735 Steam Car to the Yorklyn Day event and to Auburn Heights.
After arriving at Auburn Heights, Louie and I assisted in operating the Auburn Valley Railroad, a live steam railroad that runs around the Auburn Heights Estate. Two trains ran that day: the first train, led by AVRR 4-8-4 no. 402, a steam locomotive built by T. Clarence Marshall in 1961, and the second train, led by a pair of AVRR EMD F7A units numbered 1924 Tom and 1931 Ruth. 401, another 4-8-4 built by T. Clarence Marshall in 1960, was in the shops that day after its rebuild was recently completed.
When we finished our work at Auburn Heights for the day, we took another ride in the Stanley to H.B. DuPont Middle School in Hockessin, Delaware, where Louie and I were fortunate enough to learn how to drive the Stanley with the help of Sam and Bob.
Finally, to end our day, we assisted in helping get the Stanley ready to be put away for the day.
