Crayfishing CATCH n' COOK // Gisborne, New Zealand
Crayfishing off the East Coast of Gisborne, New Zealand. One of my favorite places on the planet. Was so lucky some of the locals who I've grown to know and love, took me out on the water. Of course I had to bring my Panasonic GH5 along. We went out on a beautiful morning where the Sun seemed to kiss the Sea. Also, the crayfish was bomb! :)

A Weekend in Auckland Part 1
The oysters plucked straight from the clear waters of the Hauraki Gulf at
Clevedon Coast Oysters are some of the freshest you’ll ever taste. It’s only a 30-
minute drive back to Auckland city.
Federal Delicatessen is chef Al Brown’s take on an old-school New York deli, but
he uses fresh local produce. And yes, of course there’s bottomless coffee. Don’t
leave without a slice of pie for dessert.
Waiheke Island is sometimes referred to as the “Byron Bay of New Zealand”. It’s
an island paradise only a 40-minute ferry ride away. After you’ve indulged at one
of the island’s many wineries you should definitely retire to the Tent House.
Chris Tate Architecture designed this stunning one-bedroom house that
overlooks native trees.
One of Waiheke Island’s best beaches is Garden Cove. You can hire kayaks and
explore the surrounding coves and canyons. There are sunset tours if you’re
after something even more picturesque.

New Zealand food to try on your visit
Hi travellers,
There are so many delicious foods in NZ, these are a selection of some of my favourites when I go home.
The list of food to try in NZ can be extensive, this video shows some that are worth trying and locations where you can buy them. The first pictures are a cookie time biscuit, raspberry buns, Whittakers chocolate, mallowpuffs and a bag of jaffas.
My first meal when I go home is always fish and chips. Watties tomato sauce is a must have. Order as you like, as our fish and chip stores also sell Chinese food. As seen in this video I had a fish, chocolate donut and a scoop of chips.
Then I head to the local dairy for an ice cream, Tip Top ice cream!
Next we head to the local supermarket chain, Countdown, to do the weekly shop. Pak n Save maybe cheaper for some items for your trip.
Then we pop into Couplands, a bakery, to buy the $1 loaf of bread to complete the weekly shop. I maybe oggling the slice range and come out with a pie.
What food would you add to the list for a visitor to try?

A STROLL IN AUCKLAND - day 01 - North Island, New Zealand
Before our New Zealand trip around the North Island, I thought I would start videoing my holidays. Maybe not the greatest idea after reviewing the footage but it’s too late now, I’m already back home. Sometimes I’d forget to record and other times I’d record things that were maybe not necessary. I quickly realised that filming on the go can be quite difficult. Nonetheless it was an experience that I will continue and try to improve upon. Well, I definitely have to improve. You’ll know what I mean if you decided to watch the video.
Now the video is very basic. There’s no narration or voice-over. That’s partly due to me not being comfortable in front of a camera and the other is, it would have taken me many takes before I would be happy with what I had to express. I’m hoping that will change as I try to improve my videos. The video starts at the backpackers place where we stayed our first night in Auckland. Yes, the video doesn’t start at the airport. I was so excited about the trip and getting to Auckland that I’d forgotten to even take out my phone out of my pocket. By the time we settle in our room it was nearing 6:30 pm. We decided to stroll down Queen Street to the waterfront. Along the way we stopped at Aotea Square for a quick photo of the beautiful arched sculpture. Mistake on my part, I used it for the thumbnail of this video but didn’t include it in the video. A reminder for next time. Then we walked through the night market where we stumbled upon a french patisserie. Once on the waterfront near Viaduct Basin, we settled for dinner at a wonderful restaurant called Frida Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Bar. A must if you’re ever there. We then strolled back up Queen Street to our room.
For those of you who are interested, everything was recorded with FiLMiC Pro on my iPhone and edited with LumaFusion on my iPad. They were the most recommended applications I found for filming and editing on mobile devices. Though I’m still in the learning curve, I really like the use of both of these apps. I didn’t have a gimble so the footage is quite (very) jumpy. Sorry about that.
If you haven’t been tortured enough, stay tune for my next video where we head up to Kerikeri.

MUST TRY Delicious Cheap Hand Made Noodles in Auckland
How do you stay warm in winter? Fire place? Warm blankets?
We stay warm with a belly full of hot silky noodles, and if you love food especially handmade noodles as much as us, stick with us as we show you some of the best places to warm up and fill up in Auckland!
For our first stop it is the legendary Xi'An Restaurant. Xi'An Food Bar in central Auckland is one of our favourite places to get handmade noodles. We've been going there for years. There are lots of these chains around Auckland now but the best one is located on:
Address: 11 Anzac Ave, Auckland, 1010
Hours: Monday - Sunday 11:30am–10:30pm
With our first stop out of the way we head into the mid city (more specifically Atrium on Elliot food court) for another one of our favourites. If you enjoy hand pulled noodles then Yong's Hand Pulled Noodles is for you.
Address: 21-25 Elliott St, Auckland, 1010
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am–6pm
Saturday - Sunday 10am–5pm
Our friend Michelle highly recommended this next spot. If you enjoy Japanese Udon then Udon Works is a must visit. This is the first store in New Zealand that specializes in udon noodles and it brings us right back to Japan immediately. Get ready for a bit of a line though, this is a popular spot. Thanks for the great recommendation Miche!
Address: 633 Dominion Rd, Mount Eden, Auckland 1041
Hours: Monday - Sunday 11:30am–2pm, 5:30–9pm
For our final place we visit a spot that we love going to especially with a group of friends. The atmosphere at GoGo Music Cafe is great as well as the food and of course, the delicious massive plate of chicken and wide handmade noodles.
GoGo Music Cafe (三原色)
Address: 559 Dominion Rd, Mount Eden, Balmoral 1041
Hours: Monday - Sunday 5:30pm–2am

Public Artwork by Daniel Clifford for Auckland's Otahuhu Library
Public Artwork commissioned by Auckland Council as part of the new Otahuhu Recreation Precinct.
Artist Daniel Clifford shares the story behind ‘Spirit Level’, his artwork for the library in the new Otahuhu Recreation Precinct (Auckland, New Zealand). Clifford was inspired to create a work that would express Otahuhu’s vibrant diversity by representing something that is truly universal – breath. Spirit Level is a new work of art made with hundreds of hand-blown glass bubbles.
From the 22nd of June to the 12th of July 2015, a mobile glass blowing studio will be set up at Hall Avenue, at the back of the library, for everyone in the community to share their breath by blowing one of the 1660 bubbles.
Everyone aged eight and over is welcome. Kids younger than eight may watch the action. Expert glass blowers and staff will be on hand to ensure a smooth and safe experience. Closed shoes are essential.
If you are a local and want to contribute your breath by blowing a bubble, please contact the Otahuhu Business Association at 09-2763997 to reserve a space, or come along on the weekend.
