Augusta Boat Harbour, This boat harbour situated along Leeuwin road, after you pass Augusta Town, is one of the more scenic spot you could find here.
The Magnificent Seven at Augusta Boat Harbour
The Humpback Whales were so close to the Augusta Boat Harbour today that you could easily see them from the shore, but not quite as close as when they were playing right underneath our bow! During both our morning and afternoon experiences we met happy, friendly Humpback Whales who came in to investigate and play. We had the magnificent seven this morning as six juveniles and one large adult joined together as a super pod of seven which cruised through the bay and only meters away from the Augusta Boat Harbour. Later on in the morning we met a few larger adults who were more focused on competition rather than play as they peduncle slapped and came in close towards us to investigate.
Moments after leaving the Augusta Boat Harbour in the early afternoon two misty blows led us towards another two friendly juveniles. They were incredibly relaxed as the young female practiced flirtatious behaviour with pec slaps and belly rolls. We noticed the local pod of Bottlenose Dolphins slowly moving towards these two whales and waited patiently to see if they would join together for a social interaction which is rarely sighted.
Sure enough, after making a gentle approach the ten Bottlenose Dolphins and two Humpback Whales were twisting, rolling and chasing each other. They then made a beeline for us and it was incredible to have them right underneath our feet looking back up at us. The female began to roll and show us her belly as we drifted with them barely a stones throw from the Augusta Boat Harbour. To add another unique moment to our afternoon a large male Humpback moved past us and he was the most amazing looking individual with one half of his body dark grey and the other almost pure white!

this is a spearfishing video with very calm waters with 100% visibility took place in Augusta (where the to oceans meet) way down in the South West of Australia. As you see i spearfish. I very much love it and most of all love eating fish.(mainly Western Austalian dhufish). In this video you see us dive over a couple of days in our little Dhufish hole, where there is no shortage of skip jack and mostly Dhufish.

This amazing footage of Augusta shot in our beautiful corner of South West Australia looks like the kind of work a pro would be proud of. However film maker Jack Moyses is just 13 years old!
Jack is a farm boy from Highbury, Western Australia. He loves nothing more than his farm, motorbikes and photography. His family own a holiday house in Augusta, where they love to escape to, whenever the chance arises! Jack made this video in September 2015 whilst spending his school holidays in Augusta. He has made it using his drone that he has saved diligently for a long time in order to buy. He hopes you will love beautiful Augusta as much as he does!

Final Weeks Augusta Season 2019
The final weeks of Augusta Season 2019 are now and we will continue to spend valuable time with our stunning Southern Right Whales along the Augusta coastline and a few Humpback Whales still hanging around to catch up with the rest of the migration. Our morning began with a splash as breaching just ahead caught our attention and upon arrival we met two large adult Humpbacks cruising through the bay. A smaller exhale just up ahead was moving towards us and as we waited for the next resurfacing we all jumped as a long pectoral fin went slap right next to us! These two juveniles had been cheeky and approached from below before surfacing alongside us and beginning some noisy pec slapping. The spectacular display of pec slapping, tail lobs and inverted fluke slapping lasted for over an our as these two lovely Humpbacks enjoyed some social surface time right next to us as we Joined The Pod™ along with three Common Dolphins who enjoyed a bit of bow riding.
Usually the final weeks of Augusta Season 2019 means the Humpbacks are sparse as the majority of their population has already moved north. This afternoon though shows that as the population grows so will the continued flow of the migration with five escort pods greeting us shortly after leaving the Augusta Boat Harbour. They were busily racing about and trying not to get too close to each other, two large adults swam right up behind us to use our sound footprint as they sneakily hid from the pod further to our left. Big adult whales and as they exhaled we could hear that powerful 300-600 kilometre per hour blow while they shuffled around at some speed to evade the other escort pods. Wishing them well we then ventured over to the Southern Right Whale nursery grounds and watched as one of the lovely mother and calf pods we are getting to know played in the shallows. Mum had found a nice little divot along the shoreline that allowed for a bit of extra room for the pair. Incredibly close to the beach, but enjoying their special place the young calf enjoyed rolling all over mum and getting stuck up on her back occasionally!

While there has been minimal rain down south at the moment I'd heard the KG's had moved up river and holding close to the drop offs near the channels. No monsters around but was epic to just hang out at Kenny's house, drinks some beers and go fishing with the old man. Cheers for watching Champs.

About my channel:
I will be sharing places of interest that will capture the serenity in the south of Western Australia. Both places I have visited, and some I have yet to visit. These videos will involve kayaking rivers, boating, walks in the bush, some on trails and some off of the beaten track, as well as driving to remote coastal areas. On Wednesday 21 of July 2010 two Humpback Whales made a brief visit right up into the harbor. On a cruise with Flinders & Outback Water Cruises earlier they were spotted 16km South heading North towards Port Augusta.

Augusta Primary School 2019
A pleasure and a privilege to welcome onboard the Augusta Primary School for some whale watching fun on a picture perfect day in Flinders Bay, Augusta! The sun was shining brightly and we boarded with many smiles and giggles along the way, it was exciting to welcome onboard many familiar faces and meet a few new ones too. We were off and as the clear, smooth water moved underneath our bow all eyes were looking closely for ocean treasures to be found. The first treasure was two beautiful Pacific Gulls who glided past in search of any morsels of food left on the surface, their bright colours looking fantastic in the sunshine. It wasn't long before eagle eyed vision all around the boat had sighted another treasure, a slinky black shape up ahead.
The smooth outline of the back of a well known visitor to Augusta could be sighted, the beautiful Southern Right Whale and her gorgeous calf! The little calf is one of the younger individuals in the current nursery grounds and is estimated to be only 3-4 weeks old. The big mumma gently spun around to have a closer look at us and we watched as those hardened patches of skin known as callosities reflected the sunshine. Her curious calf wiggled next to mum and his tiny smooth fluke broke the surface and he made the appearance of a sharks dorsal fin. Journeying back towards the Augusta Boat Harbour we soaked in the magnificent day and would like to thank Principal Myles and his wonderful team for organising this special experience. It is always so inspiring for us to see the excitement of the children onboard and their enthusiasm and passion towards their backyard and the wildlife who live and visit Flinders Bay. The whales who visit Augusta can rest easy in knowing that their future caretakers have a driving passion to care and protect them, along with a great capacity to appreciate time spent with them which is very special.
